    Severe Lag and 90006/90002 Errors

Cross-posting this wherever I can that might help. I am honestly at my wits end. I’ve been having SEVERE lag, and it feels like it’s getting worse. It used to only be slightly annoying and only in instanced content. Now it’s happening in the overworld too, and instances can be almost entirely unplayable. I’ve been playing since ARR and never experienced these issues until about a few weeks ago. It happens every day and doesn’t seem any better or worse at any particular time. I’m located in California and play on Aether. Sometimes I get a 90002 or more often a 90006 error and disconnect.

-We were between updates when it happened, and it didn’t seem to coincide with any update in particular.
-The most recent update which happened after it began did not solve the issue.
-My hardware hasn’t changed at all, and the game was fine until just the last few weeks as I said.
-I am playing via an ethernet connection on PC. The most change that seems to coincide the most with this happening is that my sister also connected her work PC to the modem via Ethernet, but unplugging her computer from the modem didn’t solve the problem.
-I also experience this issue tethered to my phone.
-I also experience slight lag on my gaming laptop in instanced content, both over the wifi and ethernet connection.
-My download speed is 180Mbps at worst. Currently I’m getting 310Mbps and still having severe instance lag.
    -Here’s what I get with tracert 204.2.229.9: https://gyazo.com/e65a95d551e1c1d54d6a71dc6f476b01
-I also ran a continuous ping for a few minutes:

-Friend in the same town with the same ISP(Comcast) is having no issues

Some things I have tried to fix it, not necessarily in this order:
    -Reinstalling the game
-ipconfig /flushdns and ipconfig /renew (several times)
-Port forwarding and Internet Explorer changes as suggested here: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...=1#post4509081
-Changing UPnP in FFXIV.cfg from 1 to 0
-Setting the program to run as administrator (both the default and DX11)
-Allowing it through my firewall (default and DX11)
    -Updating my graphics card driver
    -Updating Windows
    -Resetting my modem
-Contacting my ISP. They made some remote changes to my modem that didn’t seem to fix it.
    -Using WTFast
    -Using Mudfish
    -Running CCleaner because why not
    -Doing a system restore
-Disconnecting from the datacenter and reconnecting to it
-Removing programs and such added to my computer since around when it began

At this point I no longer know what to do. It doesn’t seem like it’s happening with any other game.

I've been having this same problem. My error 90002/90006 happen every 2-3 and it's on clock-work from when I log in to when I log out. I've tried everything and even looked other places for answers. But it seems like SE always points the finger at our ISP and the routes it take to their servers. They will not address the problem but simply reply with "have you contacted your ISP provider?" They are well aware of the issue.

I've gone out of my way to contact my ISP, had a technician come to my house test my fiber lines and switch out the RJ connector on my fiber line. We've ran tests and still can't understand why.

As for the lag, I've been having that issue for quite some time, my game lags from the hours of 7:00 pm MST to 10:30 PM MST every single night since early October. But when I play other games, there seems to be no latency issues at all. So like you said...im at the mercy of SE right now and their technician team and mods.

Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

From what you've described, it sounds like you are able to connect to the game server, but that connection becomes unstable. Do you notice any pattern to this? Does it only happen at certain times or in certain areas? You mentioned that it happens on the overworld, but is there an area where it's particularly worse?

Is this only happening with the Aether Data Center, do you have any other character on other Data Centers? Particularly the European or Japanese ones?

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!

Just something to try, as I was having crippling 90002/90006 errors a couple months ago. If you have Google Chrome installed, uninstall it. Log in to the game and see if it's better. This ended up being the issue for me, and another person that was posting with issues at the same time, and this inexplicably worked to resolve our issues. I was also able to reinstall Google Chrome as well with having all the same extensions/add-ons enabled, and the issues did not return. So, hoping maybe this can possibly help either or both of you, and certainly wouldn't hurt to try.

Nope no luck, after being logged in for two hours, error 90002, was worth a shot though, thank you! Guess...I'll just keep looking for something that will help.

I'm really getting tired of this, my last resort is and after working with my ISP to solve this problem for the past week, they are going to come out to my home, do a whole new fiber drop, new fiber lines, new NID system and set up. If this doesn't work, I can't wait to see what lame excuse Square Enix will have from their amazing "Technical Support" staff. I'm thinking it's going to be along the lines of..."have you contacted your ISP provider?".
