Mogstation payment restrictions for Steam Accounts???? Seriously???

Yes I posted this in feedback too. Because its outrageous. They are Punishing people for owning the steam version. And it shouldn't be under the radar like this.

I literally only just found out you changed this and I want to say its awful. Why aren't you allowed to pay straight with debit/credit cards or crysta anymore? You've made worthless any crysta owned by anyone with a steam account for ff14.

Please change it back. Going through 3 logins 2 of which need 2 factor authentication is not fun and its horribly inconvenient to the consumer. Not to mention if you forget any of those 3 passwords you can't buy anything because your accounts lock.

[EDIT] Just found out i can only do my sub through steam too. Why Square enix? And why didn't you tell anyone about this change?

this is so hugely inconvenient for everyone on steam. Give people the option to convert their accounts at this rate even for a small fee because for real this is ridiculous. You cant set up recurring sub's through steam because unless you have hundreds of dollars in your steam wallet it wont work. So now I have to do my sub manually from now on if I ever cancel. Thanks Square Enix you're really putting the consumer first.

I play through Steam, I use the recurring payment and all I need is to have 15 bucks on my wallet for it to go through. Everything I buy, I buy it through wallet, with the exception of server transfers that you can still use your Crysta or Credit Card to pay for. Extra login screens never bothered me either.

So you think its okay that they are taking away options from steam players? I want to know their reasoning and why they never told players they were going to do this. That's what stings the most. And told players they were separating steam and windows but gave no option for people to migrate if they wanted to. It just feels like they are punishing steam players at this point.

And yeah you can do it with recurring. Except if one fails they all fail. Ever since the huge steam hack a few years ago I've saved no payment info on there and don't plan to. So I can't even recur payments into the steam wallet Unless you know of a way to do that. It doesn't change how I feel though. It feels like an irrational change that is very anti consumer.

There are no other options listed for me. Same with when I got a dye from the mogstation earlier. I had no other options bar steam. Not to mention the steam payment error'ed the first time so I had to add twice as much to the steam wallet to pay for it. So unless my account is bugged its all I can use.

There is another user here too who's sub renewal just failed because they tried to use crysta. (it's in another thread) so idk what's going on anymore. Did they only change it for some people? Your account is a steam one right?

[EDIT] Just checked mine again and its still only Steam Wallet. Crysta isn't even an option.

I never understood why people used crysta to begin with. why do a transaction just to do a transaction? Just pay the recurring? maybe I missed something in regards to crysta

Crysta is a middle-man. I'd rather make the charge to my card myself then leave it up to an automated process.

Same that's why I always set up recurring to my debit card. Less chance of issues. I really don't understand why it's been changed. Unless it has something to do with Valve.

I wish they'd change it back or at least have given us forwarning or a chance to migrate out accounts from steam to normal windows. Anything bar this... it feels like a punishment of steam players. Taking away options like this.
