It makes it easier to talk strategy in battle, and tell people what you are doing, or what you need them to do.
The "queue" idea will not work for attacks that require a block, parry or evade btw.

Auto attack promotes communication, co-operation, helps with server side lag/latency, and does not pull away from tactical play.
Communication is promoted because you have time to chat.
Co-operation is promoted because Battle Regimens will be much more likely to be used.
By forcing less actions to be entered per second (especially with those players who spam) there will be less lag/latency due to having a server side client. Making the game much more enjoyable and allow actions like Feint to be used in appropriate time windows. Cures can be cast on demand rather than waiting waiting for your stupid inferior attack to finish (much worse if you have several queued up) so you can mass heal if the mob(s) score multiple critical attacks or use very strong TP actions. Normally you would die by the next regular attack of the mob because you can't cast Cure in time due to some issue whether directly or indirectly because of auto attack interfering with mandatory animation delays or lag/latency.
This does not decrease tactical thought put into playing the game. My reasoning for this is because regular attacks are too inferior to really have any thought of judgment over other than I have to be careful not to screw myself over in case I need to use a specific action immediately without any delay whatsoever which regular attacks can definitely interfere with. With or without an auto attack I'm spending the same amount of time considering which actions to use and regular attacks are second nature to me (require no thought process behind to execute effectively like blinking).
the current battle system to me is really slow/slugish, just speed the animations up and I'd be happy and for auto-attack I'd like it mainly due to the fact that the current system keeps skipping animations :'( and the animations are so cool ><

As someone who uses a gamepad, I'll no longer be forced to return to Bar 1 Slot 1 every time I want to use a normal attack. As long as all other actions have priority over the basic attack there shouldn't be any problems.

Personally I think a full auto attack system is more work than needed. I do admit we need a toggle of sort but I like manual input for a lot of situations. I'll admit it's a disadvantage for gamepad users, however at the same time I always felt like using a gamepad was more toruble than it's worth since you'd have to put it down to type a message or use an awful onscreen keyboard.
I really don't see why people complain about the 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1 thing so much either, mages had to use cures manually in XI all the time and nobody cried about it then.
I don't personally want one over the other. I think they both can work fine, although I can admit the current system needed some tweaking. The major gain i'll get from AA is being able to type while fighting. Both work at the end of the day, so i'm not blowing up over one move or another.

I don't really care either way about this option. And would prefer it operated like the Aggro Icon, If you dont want it turn it off.
I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.
less spam
more focus on abilities
more communication
and a great foundation for the new upcoming revamped battle system

				I don't want auto-attack, as most know.
The monsters overall are easy enough that people can and are just spamming their way through battles. It doesn't matter that they're being terribad players, it works, so whatevs is consensus. The problem isn't attack spam but rather the inherent laziness in most people wanting the path of least resistance.
We don't need auto-attack. What we need are more low/non-TP abilities, and abilities that are more effective in how they affect the outcome of the fight. Right now the incentive for players to be strategic isn't really there, thus we have people spamming their way through battles and then complaining about how boring it is.

just make it toggle-able, everyone happy.
they probably already learnt it from aggro icon.
