Archer 50 and you still say you're spamming 1? Damn you really should learn how to play your class...I don't know how anyone can hate auto attack especially over the current system where you just spam normal attack endlessly and hope that when you want to hit a weapon skill the delay doesn't allow you for 5 seconds. I liked the system at first but soon after I much rather have an auto attack so my damage can be optimized and battle speed can pick up. The reason they are changing it is because the current system isn't working as intended and is slowing the battles down and with them lowering the group sizes from 15 to 8 that have to tweek the battle system so that the game moves at a fluid pace and not because the people are too lazy to spam 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 for 20-30 minutes straight.
There is reason. And they might listen, Especially if test proove it is bad for game. Still game lacks a test server, so they cant show planned changes to people and get some feedback on them.
As a melee attacker, I don't see what adding auto attack would do for me, and I rarely use the basic attack anymore, using light attack and pummel to branch out into other attacks. Taking those attacks away without somehow boosting the basic attack would be problematic. It would be a nerf to all melee.
I find the attack animations halting in mid go to be more an issue to fix. Its good to be quick in game, but the movement isn't, fluid. One moment I'm in the air for my seismic shock, then I pop up and my pummel hits. I think the dramatic light darkening spotlight moment needs to be cut out in order to keep the speed of the fight going. Or have it for the killing special attack on a mob(make it a "super combo KO" kind of thing.)
