I like it just the way it is, so for me they did great on the difficulty setting for the nier raid.

For me 24-man raids are a kind of weekly "get in / get out" kind of thing.
I really do not want to spend hours wiping in it.

The difficulty is perfectly fine.
A run takes about 45-50min (sometimes longer), that's quite long, but ok.
Most players aren't that good, it's important to create alliance raids not that hard.
Otherwise it's just an annyoing wipefest...
For more difficult content there is savage or ultimate.![]()

The optimist in me wants to say the community as a whole has just gotten better at dealing with this level of content. It's like how I started playing the game more around the time Ninja came out. I missed the entire pains and aches that Titan gave people, along with the latency issues. Still when I read about how difficult this fight use to be I find it hard to believe. I've even gone in to run it at the ilvl they were at during the content being relevant. As things get better, playing our jobs getting easier, the set difficulty from instances get easier along with it. Players are retaining knowledge of mechanics better, mind you I'm meeting the opposite side here halfway by admitting that the mechanics aren't really that difficult. As players are improving maybe it is time for the devs to reconsider the difficulty of casual content, if it's something the mass majority want, and not just the vocal minority.
In concerns to the raid itself I died plenty during my first, second, and third run. I've learned to run it like a machine now and kinda miss being surprised by the mechanics. I thought the devs mentioned they wanted to abandon the routine stuff and randomize boss mechanics a bit more? Also though I'm running this with clockwork execution I still love the raid. It may never happen but I'd love that air fighter as a mount by the end of the raids too.
In my first run the healers were the MVP's who kept it from a wipe, as a DPS it felt busier than previous 24 man raids with the pace of attacks being faster (I guess to get more of a Nier feel), but I could adapt, especially as a DNC with mobility, but my mistakes were accounted for, so it felt easy, but the healers in my run looked super busy. I've yet to try healing it myself and may do when I run it over the weekend.
But not every first run Ive done of a 24 man has resulted in wipes. Though I can at least claim credit for wiping my first ever LoTA back in the day, I didn't know about the platforms...

I don't think its to easy I always see tons of deaths during it. If lag any during it you die a lot. If they fixed lag problem in there it would be easy. No raid is easy anymore with all new players that's still learning. Been few time my team in there had to carry other 2 teams in it. One time it was just me and my teams tank alive the we finished killing boss in there.

The fact that one group CAN solo Hobbes is evidence it’s easier. It depends on the alliance you have, but after running it a good amount, I think it’s certainly one of the easiest raids on release.
The 1st 70 raid had way more punishing mechanics than the Copied Factory, which I think is very forgiving. I felt the same way about the 79/80 msq trial honestly, raids/trials are getting easier than the last expansions content.

More like evidence of people's determination in said group to win it rather than give up and just wipe, because 'soloing' Hobbes takes forever if two groups wipe out early in the fight(for group C this likely to happen..)
Haha ok, but there is probably a group(s) out there that has had that unfortunate 10+ vuln stack player hehe.

In case you got woosh'd there: It was a hyperbolic example.

For me it felt like the difficulty was just right. I noticed this too when I did it I was like "How does everyone already know what to do", then I took into account it was 12hrs after release and people had been farming it all day for the set and by then learned everything.
Would like to see more fun mechanics like mathbot come back though.
