Error causing a crash

On top of the directx 11 errors like the ones posted here http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...ectX-11-Errors I got this error for the first time today after exiting a Hades ex instance back to Eulmore. Only thing I've changed since yesterday was disabling full screen optimization for ff14.



Yesterday when it was just the directx errors I tried a fresh install of ff14 which didn't fix anything. I updated graphics drivers that didn't fix anything. I reset system settings through the ff14 launcher didn't fix anything. reinstalled directx 11 didn't fix anything. I tried adjusting graphic settings in game didn't seem to do anything until I started changing the framerate cap from 60 fps, which is what I have it set to by default, to 30 fps then to uncapped which threw a directx 11 error this was while in Eulmore and moving the camera

Outside of Eulmore from yesterday I crashed when going into the new 24 man raid, inside the new dungeon with trusts, in Kugane, in front of my house while doing nothing all with directx 11 errors

Where in game does the crash occur? Could you try doing a cleanboot? Open the task manager (CTRL+SHIFT+ESC) and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC.

this error happened after zoning back into Eulmore in front of Hillicen the new Augmented facet gear exchange npc after leaving a Hades ex instance I can try a cleanboot and see how it goes

The error above hasn't shown up yet but good ole directx 11 error that's been going on for other people and myself has this is with a cleanboot while in a cutscene for the msq with Magnus, Thaffe, and Jeryk from the Good for the Soul quest

Same thing for me in Eulmore get a dx11 errors if i'm there to long or if teleport to the city. Now i'm getting them when teleport to lower decks. I used a back up copy of the game updated and it still gives me those dx11 errors. I use a none steam version of the game. Now instant dx11 crash when enter any duty.

Happens both when programs are and are not running in the background no overlays are running ever. Only update is to graphics drivers was getting the same dx11 error even on previous drivers since patch also not a steam version user just to rule that out

Yesterday reinstalled windows, graphic drivers and ff14 with cleanboot but with non-microsoft services disabled not that there were many at this point dx11 error still happened. Today I've tried underclocking my gpu by -50 and -100 mHz this seemed to cause the same dx11 error to pop up more quickly. At -100 mHz underclock got a new dx11 error but I think this one was more tied to the underclock rather than whatever is causing the dx11 error that everyone else is getting to begin with unfortunately forgot to take a screen shot of the new error.

What I did after I underclocked my gpu was walk all around Eulmore around the outside and then back into the center near the aetheryte in front of the augmented facet gear exchange npc with the camera faced towards the the aetheryte sat there for a few minutes before moving again game would crash either immediately or after a second or two. -100 mHz caused the crash more quickly than -50. hopefully this is useful in some way
