Think of the last player you remember commin; why did you comm them over the others?

I thought this would be a fun question to ask and I'm curious to read the wide array of reasonings people have lol.

I'll start...
For me personally, the last person I comm'd was this SAM I encountered while in expert roulette, and the reason I comm'd them over the healer and other dps was because they were chill and pleasant (the healer was trying to bark orders and had a bit of a superiority complex, lost my comm pretty much instantly), and they didn't seem mechanical. They weren't being a chatterbox or anything like that, they didn't have to be, they were just genuinely friendly throughout the mission (the other dps seemed chill enough, but also seemed very mechanical. At times it felt like I was playing with a machine rather than a fellow human being).

SMN in dun scaith. The MT went into the portal, the other 2 tanks were doing god knows what so I had aggro on Diabolos until I died. The healers were too busy being afk or occasionally casting an offensive spell to raise me. SMN did raise and so got my comm.

I commed the healer because they apologized for not playing at their best as their cats were fighting. Despite this, no one died (or came very close to dying) so they got the comm.

The last person I remember commending was a black mage. The healer kept dying, the tank couldn't tank, and the other dps died more often than them, they were also highest dps. I gave it to them.

I'm still working my way through the MSQ and I only just started Stormblood today. So usually by the time I'm finished watching the cutscene all the other players are gone. On the rare occasions where there are 2 or more players still around I'll comm whoever I thought did the best or was the most helpful. If no one stood out then I'll just choose at random. I always will give a comm if I'm able to. The last comm I gave was to the only player left after I was through watching the cutscene. No reason other than they were the only player I could give one to.

Tbf, I can't really tell who is doing good or not, I don't know enough about the other classes to be able to tell what they are doing or how well someone is playing. I only care about clearing the dungeon or trial. Hence I will always comm the tank unless they keep dying to mechanics.

Patience. I gave one to a tank because three of us were new to the dungeon and needed the clear but it wasn't happening quickly and he or she stuck it out until the end, with a decent attitude.
