    Crafting Changes : ROTATION

I was confused with crafting to begin with not knowing when to use Inner Quiet, or basically the rotation in general. So just basically made NQ items and when I had to turn in an HQ item bought it off the MB. Just now went to craft something I'm only level 11 CUL, and see what has been removed and almost had another heart attack ! I'm VERY , VERY upset. IS there a website or better yet a youtube video that shows the rotation we're supposed to use? I know in the past I was told in NN about a website, but it was like reading Flight Instructions or Income Tax files!
    why!

It was intimidating for me too after omnicrafting for so long to have all the abilities removed. Took a few, crafts going slow and a few busts to really make me pay attention. I couldn't just Netflix and craft with the changes but finally found some things I like. I dont know if you have other crafts levled or only 11CUL but if only the 1 i'd say try for HQ mats to boost the quality before you even start. Then get as close to completed synth in as little moves as you can so say you only have one more move to finish it, then spam the other quality moves. As you level it gets easier and easier and you get more abilities. At 80s i'm the type to do Quality first and make sure that is 100 with a few moves left then pound out the Synthesis moves to completion.

So in short at lower levels try to gather and use HQ mats for presynth boost, get to within 1 step of craft completion, then quality quality quality until you have 1 turn left and finish it and hope for the best. Of course with cheap food buffs on. Also see if your FC will let you use the FC boosts on crafts for a while those help a lot too.

    Hope that helps!

If you're an 11 Cul, you won't even have items that require a HQ turn in yet? I'm calling troll thread.

People who are New to crafting may not know that trying to craft HQ at low level is hard if not impossible at times. I didnt know it when I first started figured it out after trying several times. Not a good idea to automatically label someone a troll when a lack of knowledge is very possible.

Note: Taking advice from a players alt, is like taking advice from a voice in a dark room. Criticism is a two way street remember that!!

They're not calling you a troll because you are asking questions, they are calling you a troll because your posts are filled with over-dramatic hyperbole and exaggerations, just like a lot of trolls are doing right now after the update because they are upset with the changes that came with Patch 5.1. So they see another thread like yours and they're like "oh great, another troll.." because the stuff in your thread looks a lot like what trolls have posted.

You said that you were an 11CUL and that you're looking for a "Rotation" (even though you have what, 3-4 abilities at Level 11...?) and that you can't figure out how to make anything, and that you were upset when a button went missing after the update and that someone suggested you go to a website that had over-complicated instructions (probably because you looked up ENDGAME crafting, well obviously you wouldn't understand that yet, you're nowhere near there) and I would surmise that unless this was a website updated for 5.1, that it was probably also out of date information that woulda just confused you.

And now you're typing in all-caps. So, that doesn't help either.

Alternatively, at low level, while the HQ boost is nice, you'll be leveling so fast regardless that it just doesn't really matter enough to bother. The time/effort you spend on trying to HQ something would just be better spent jumping ahead to the next thing.

You use inner quiet at the start of crafting, and it makes your skills that improve quality more powerful as you go. Rotation? Improve quality, then finish product. At level 11 you only have a few skills to use, so if you read your tool tips it shouldnt be too hard to figure them out.

To get any craft to 15 just do every recipe once. The guild shop sells everything you need, except the cooking guild doesn't stock fish, you buy fish at the hyaline just off the aftcastle. The guild quests provide more than enough shards. Check with the local levemete before you dispose of the stuff you crafted, some of it will be levequest fodder.

Also want to add that during the lower levels, I think 15-20 or something like that, there's an alchemy levequest that wants Ethers. You can buy those in unlimited quantity from an NPC for just a few gil.

    Dude...

At Level 11, there is no rotation. You basically have Standard Synthesis and Standard Touch, pretty sure. Maybe Master's Mend, not sure when you learn that now. The game tells you how much progress you make, divide the total number of progress needed by the progress you make, and make sure there's enough durability left.

Let's say for example, you're doing an item that needs 50 progress and the game says at 100% efficiency, you get 20 progress. This means you will need 3 Standard Synthesis to finish the item.

The item has 40 durability and you have Master's Mend which restores 30. Let's assume for a second you have 160 CP.

So you would use 3 Standard Touches which takes you to 10/30 Durability and 106 CP left.

Use Master's Mend to get back up to 40/40 and you have 18 durability left, and you can do 1 more Standard Touch, and then finish it off with 3 Standard Synths.

As you gain levels, you'll get new tools. Just read their tooltips and think about what sort of situation you could use those in. This is much easier than it once was.
