We had critical damage too that required constant awareness. We had to facetarget to hit autoattacks, our melee range was only 3y. We had positionals lol. We had gear that mattered in PvP. We had PvP rezzes during the match. We had 10stack medal memes that too 120% more dmg.
Even if that was not the perfect PvP, or most desirable PvP, it all created more depth, you had to really get into it to be able to play it properly. That entry skill level is completely gone now. (Which is not really bad) I just think, you shouldn't meme it down to 1shot bursts, every class was viable and unique in there, that was kinda the beauty - when you can stun somebody for 6s and pacify for another 5s and remove his "1 shot buffs with buff removing skills" it's not that unbalanced as you see it. At least when people played properly.

I know these mch with 90% winrates ye, but when they hit the top games, they lost more too....

Like, using the right skills, at the right time is what is "skilled play", if you have only skills that can be spammed and are ready every few seconds, you can't do much wrong. This is why we needed or still need a few buttons more, situational powerful offglobals would atm be best...
The design philosophy of 3.x is the peak of competitive 4v4 arena in any MMO's pvp that's for sure, except remove respawns and medals to have it like fold where you die and stay dead until rezzed or so. But it doesnt change the fact that it was executed poorly by SE and wasnt fine tuned whatsoever. The situationality you speak of, I'm aware of it, and I witnessed it through vods and clips to brainstorm the possibility and glory of the executions being clean, it's all amazing on paper, but heavily skewed numbers on top of the general community back then being incompetent ruined the potential it even had to begin with. Realistically 10 stacking should almost NEVER happen unless a warrior does a sick misposition mindgame into holmgang or something similar onto the medals, optional abilities and such unlocked through GC rank ups is personally the best feature, GC rank meaning something and not some worthless number now that gives a title. Even in conclusion to how the execution of 3.x was, it pales in comparison to WoW and Tera's peak in terms of optionality, depth, skill and dedication of the general populis. Having come from said games and ranked high on them, 3.x how it was finalized was heavily flawed. Perfect concepts, terrible execution. That's the cold truth
