Fellowships need some tuning up.

No idea how or what good use fellowship is for, all I see its just note lists on a search friend finder board with nothing much to say if not someone linked a discord that everyone to join.
What better different than making a general discussion thread for recruiting.
Am I missing out something?

i also have no clue what fellowships are for. I opened it randomly this week bc i joined one and was wondering why i never see any notifications from it. am i just supposed to open it randomly to get updates? the one day i browsed the recruiting fellowships, it was mostly for people that wanted screenshots.

Could somebody explain to me what it exactly is?


I opened it a few days ago but I just see random stuff with weird names and 1 member in it, but no real descriptions of why they created it and what it's for.

I saw a bigger one (quite a lot of members in it) named 'Eos Appreciation Society' but again here the description didn't really made much sense and I had no clue what it was about.
I also don't see anybody advertising their fellowship in Limsa or other cities.


So outside my static (where we do Ex (just to get the first kill and a couple of extra runs), Savage and Ultimate) I'm just running around alone. LS's never solved this, and again I didn't really knew much ones I just got 3 active hunt LS's. I thought fellowships might be great to help me find people where we could farm EX trials so I wouldn't need to suffer the 'clear for a friend moogle players' and just to find some friends to be able to do some roulettes with 'friend people'.
And just find people - friends, etc with similair interests.


So, what is fellowship and what is the purpose of it? It seems that what I thought it is isn't really correct.

Can we also get some more right click options from right clicking someones post on the Message Board?

But it would be super helpful if we could have the other right click options that you have on Member List like Invite to Linkshell, Invite to Cross World Linkshell, Group Settings, Send Friend Request, Kick from Fellowship, Appoint Fellowship Admin.

Does the blacklist just hide individual fellowships from showing when you're browsing? That will be useful for me, actually. I tried looking through the list and wanted an option to hide listings one-by-one - looks like it might have been there and I just missed it.


Edit: where is that blacklist setting? It doesn't seem to be in the finder menu.

Bump, I've realized a few other features would be nice too, and I'm glad they somewhat fixed the crossworld linkshell invitation error bug.

6. An additional chat tab would be useful for the following features I have ideas for. It'd also be about time we finally get more than just the 4 damn tabs after all this time with so many chat tabs.

7. Adding an announcement fellowship function that let's posts be displayed in the chat when posted. It'd be a nice reminder instead of it being secluded to just the fellowship board, so when a new post is done, the chat can display the message for everyone as a reminder the feature even exists. Accordingly, add a post limit timer, say 30 seconds to a minute on the next time the same player can be allowed to post something as to prevent spam and trolls using it to chat.

8. While the error about inviting players and popping up the crossworld linkshell error was fixed, we still get errors inviting people while they're talking to NPC's. We don't get this error for any other invitation, so this will need to be something to be addressed, or at least have the error specify "cannot invite, player is in cutscene/talking to NPC" or something.

9. The sort function should have an admin sort function for those times an admin is abusing their powers and you need to find the player faster by putting all the admins at the top of the list. Also it would be nice to have customization of admin privileges, so you can set people to be allowed only to invite, but not to delete messages or kick players and etc. The resemblance to FC's is remarkably close, which brings me to my last point.

10. FC's should have this type of message board already implemented within their system. You could even use the current "short messages" you put on the FC board and then apply each one to a submenu or board below is that bumps each "short message" down a lil bit. This would provide the same utility fellowships give and be hardly that much more effort, and would remove all the useless FC only fellowships. There's no reason this shouldn't be a feature for FC's as is and should've been implemented prior to fellowships considering the scale of this idea is meant to go beyond our current limitations. We should perfect the current things we have before adding more gizmos and widgets to the equation.

Any other ideas I fully welcome, I still am not for the idea of adding a chat system to the fellowships, because that then defeats the purpose of them being different. Otherwise, the system is very useful and has a lot of potential.

I now own a fellowship of 1000 players. I gotta say, we could use some of these ideas and more. Maybe highlight posts made by admins and owners in different colors or allow them the option to post in different color backgrounds (nothing as an eyesore though, just maybe dark red or something with a border maybe to point out an important announcement or something to notice). As well as a purge kick button to anyone who hasn't either used the fellowship or actually even clicked in it recently within a set amount of time. A way for players to apply to be admins as well and heck, if we really wanna follow it being a true message board, give it a heart feature or something to show players like an announcement or receive it well.

Above all else though, we really need something to link to the chat as far as new posts from fellowships or announcements... so it's not just some sub menu that gets easily ignored.

Today i got locked out of a fellowship because i couldn't for the life of me find it in the millions of pages...i couldnt search it by tag as TONS are already an 'RP ' tagged fellowship.
Was a little sad to hear them advertising, and actually being interested for once, only to have them fill with the 1000 member cap, all before I could find it in the list...

Real sad, please SE...add a better search feature for fellowships!

At first I thought it was a 1000 players social platform, but I realized later that there is no chat option. Seriously, who came up with this? A posting only platform? I know JP loves bulletin board, but that's why web browser exist. You might as well enable 1000 members cross world linkshell instead of this ancient relic that existed around the year of 2000.

I think I know who you might be XD we might've talked briefly and it just had filled up. We're on like the 6th page if you even try to search RP tag, but also I'd been advertising this for a while too so /shrug. It's okay though, eventually it'll open up again, or SE can add a purging option lol. Don't worry, we'll get you in the Wandering RP'ers XD

Well having an in game bulletin board is kinda neater than having to rely on an external option. Not to mention that closes the gap between console and PC players a bit more nicely instead of having to find an "outside of the game" median. Personally I find this idea really interesting, while definitely in need of improvements.... is actually beneficial for reasons that chats aren't beneficial. Top reason being posts being a permanent mark allowing anyone who comes online to see so it's not just a lost chat log. It's not a bad idea, but the implementation needs a bit of polish imo.
