Due to the random timer, I spent most of the day waiting to see if I could get a personal home on a plot I really wanted but isn't heavily sought for. And then...

Someone came by and said "I want my friend to have a fair chance to get his home so..." and then proceed to relocate their home and then relocate again effectively resetting the timer.

I rage quit and came here to rant. Yes, I know, ANOTHER housing post, but it makes me feel better! Best of luck to the rest of you there's one less competitor out there at least.

I would actually report that to the GMs. Report it as harassment so that a GM will speak with you. It is someone taking advantage of a game system to screw someone else over on purpose.

It is always a personal thing. I saw one of the plots I *always wanted opened up on Cactuar so I moved to relocate. Sometimes it isn't all about you. Might want to tell ffxiv to halt relocations too if that wasn't how they intended it to go.

Relocating to a new plot because you have always wanted it is perfectly fine, and why the system is in place. Relocating to a plot, and then relocating back or to another plot, is abuse of system mechanics and should be reported as such. SE should at least put a 48 hour timer on those who relocate so they can't immediately relocate again.

Nah, I think this time OP has a fair shot at getting that report looked into, since the individual actually said something in chat. This was very clearly not someone using the relocation as intended. If they were completely silent about it, sure, maybe. Maybe they came by and wanted that plot too and relocated, and then quickly changed their mind. Or whatever you might be able to infer.

This time, individual made the mistake of all but explicitly stating "I'm going to intentionally reset the timer so you can't have this."

Yeah, I think you missed the point? It wasn't about the person who relocated either. They relocated and then relocated again just to reset the timer and screw someone over who had been waiting.

Nah they are right. I saw 2 people slapping and bullying a lala that relocated just cause "they waited" 15 minutes. Some need to grow up. I agree. If you do not like the housing system do not buy one. Stop whining about how you got a small and wanted a medium or someone beat you to it fair and square so they are a bot. Makes no sense. Go play vanilla Wow or something more your speed.

If the OP described the situation exactly as it happened then that person needs to be reported. Resetting a timer just to give their friend a chance isn't how the system was meant to be used.

By the same token so should the people abusing the relocating lala. Just because they didn't get what they were waiting for doesn't mean they can treat someone poorly.

This is why I made it a point to find a ward that had the house I wanted without someone camping in front of it. Luckily there was such a house so I didn't have to snipe it from someone. I'm sorry you had to deal with that OP. That really sucks.

Unfortunately it wasnt a simple relocate. It a relocate then relocate again immediately to reset that plots timer. Thats abuse of the mechanic they are talking about. Its not about the single relocation
