@op : god bless the noob, dont forget that
Wow...
Lots of hostility here on the lodestone.
If anyone gets alienated I hope it is the hostile people, then we will have less hostility here and I'll be less sad.
So far I am not alienated. But perhaps I seek something from this world that others do not. And those that are feeling alienated seek something from this world that is best served in other worlds, or that they are accusstomed to from other worlds.
Please do not change my world to fit your needs. I am quite happy in this little world.

The epeen swaggering going around is a bit much. This is why FF11's party grind was so great. We had to spend copious amounts of time with each other, so we learned who to blist/ignore.

speed runs are fine on single dungeons low drop rate. lower lockout
give us long dungeons with like a 1 week respawn, multiple wings and bosses guaranteed drop rate off bosses non speed run challenge or maybe speed run killing x boss liek moogle.
people will quit bitching about how many x runs they do. long dungeon will be your main raid and speed run dungeon wil lb ur off time filler
edit: thats if they are going the whole route of instance only fights i pprefer open world 3-4 day re spawn but that sjust me

The answer to the poster's first post. SE makes you think you're gonna get something grand out of a quest that has required cooldown times but have to repeat several times to actually get it. Here's a formula you'll understand:
More time spent trying to get something that might not even be there = $$$$$$$ in subscription fees.

While I agree the longer they can keep us playing the happier they are. I think there is a vaque no mans land between "too long" and long enough to make exclusive item worth attaining. In fact the two are in direct correlation. The answer to the poster's first post. Long time to acheive goal= Most exclusive goal
Short time to achieve goal= Less exclusive goal
Personally, I like things hardcore. The harder, either mechanically or via a silly uber-bad drop rate time sink, the better. Even though Im not busting my arse to get these elusive items/achievements and Im taking my time. When I do get them; I want to feel as special as possible in comparison to my peers.
If everything in the game is as easy as getting to lvl 50, why play the game?
I once read someone say "If you are rushing through the game to get to the end and log out, then why are you playing". The point of the game is to be logged in and to be having fun.
SE's goal should be the opposite of the Fatigue system, and their caution pop-up when we log in. SE should want us logged in and having a good time. I think they need to work on giving us reasons to stay logged in.
Speed runs are an interesting dynamic. Once you have done the run a few times, you will be ready for speed runs and be able to possibly attain the best loot. Part of the problem is low populations and cliquely ls's keep experienced dungeon goers from mingling and playing with others who might be newer.
Although I like that they are keeping some things hardcore. I can see them making it all a lot easier when 2.0 comes out. Its too bad. Having certain pieces of gear in FF11 like Vermillions Cloak at one point, was so impressive. SE has shown with FF11 that they are more than willing to dumb things down and increase drop rates, they just won't currently, to keep all of us masochists playing.
Drop rates are only too low when you cannot reasonably obtain them and get use of them in the time that the drops are relevant.
What do you think is replacing this stuff anytime soon, likely nothing in the next few patches. So suck it up, and realize this content is not meant to be zerged in a week but last you until they have more itemization.
My god you people are a bunch of a whiners, we finally get ANY ARMOR that is actually worth getting, and you whine and moan that it takes too long to get. Enjoy having something to actually look forward to in itemization, and be thankful maybe that you don't have to deal with stupid personal loot lists.
When they introduce content that has other items, or at least get close to releasing it, I'm sure they'll increase the drop rate significantly.
Until then maybe be a little glad you have something to do until 2.0 other than a Garuda primal fight and the legatus battle... Hell I would have appreciated having relevant gear from the roaming NM's from the day they were added until NOW. That would have given endgame shells sooooooooooo much more to do rather than ONE thing a patch.
Put a sock in it, you are obnoxious and no one cares that you can't get all the gear you want in two weeks.
Or you know what buy it on the MW with all that gil I'm sure you have saved up if you really play 14 hours+ a day, and spare us all the headache of listening to you bitch. Go do farming parties or something instead of dungeon and leave it to people who can actually do endgame content without having a conniption fit because "waaaaaaaaah we didn't get what we wanted".

First of all, triple melded armor is superior to the Heavy Darklight Gear. We've gone over the stats and benefits, and triple melded Sentinel Boots + Figthers Breechers >> Heavy Darklight Flancguard (yes, I have triple melded Sentinel Gear). Similarly, a case can be stated for helm+chest piece etc. The DD gear is pretty sexy though. Regardless, to say the gear is actually worth getting, sadly is not necessarily true. We are merely trying to obtain it, because it is the only thing to do in the game.Drop rates are only too low when you cannot reasonably obtain them and get use of them in the time that the drops are relevant.

Second of all, no one is whining here. At all. In fact, I started by saying it was NOT a qq post, but a zzz post implying boredom and apathy, rather than whining. So please learn to read before throwing out rash generalizations about those posting.
And I am glad you are slowly working your way through the game, hoping to get gear. I wish you luck getting full sets of DL gear going about at a snails pace. But let's be clear: the only obnoxious thing here is people like you who haven't put in the time, and who have not suffered the time sinks and yet have the gall to post about us raiding linkshells.
And no I do not play 14+ hours a day. I actually study a lot and have a life. Once again people (i.e. YOU) need to read. I mentioned that we decided to go extremely hardcore this weekend given our free time. Why would I go form farming parties when as an End-Game LS all there is to do is AV/CC?
Honestly, I fail to understand why you bothered to post in this thread at all. It would've been fun if you trolled, but in reality, you really only gave us your opinion which, if you read the thread title, I did not ask for.
With regards to Viion, if you followed the dungeon thread, I was a big advocate for intricate, well designed, exploration dungeons. In fact, I honestly don't know where or why you started posting negatively to the thread. If anything, my thread was intended to call for proper dungeon design and to get rid of the silly drop rates. i.e. Bigger dungeon, more exploration, more bosses, progressive drops etc.

If that is the case I completely misunderstood the purpose and read it wrong, I apologise. With regards to Viion, if you followed the dungeon thread, I was a big advocate for intricate, well designed, exploration dungeons. It seemed to me the main focus was: Drop rates being low for those who speed run, with the attitude of wanting higher drop rates as a reward to speed run the dungeon.
