    1) You are killing your own fun. Any activity, no matter how fun, if done to excess, will become unfun. I love cookiees, but if I eat 1000/day, I won't so much. To retain the 'fun' do not kill the 'fun' by excess.
    2) As you have shown, there is no benefit from doing it 5 times a night, versus 30 times a night. Unless you are on a timeline (where you HAVE to get the Darklight gear before 1.22 or you will be eaten by Gobbuee), then I have to ask what's the hurry?
    3) You are correct, I do not see the need to wait 15 minutes to re-enter IF you complete the whole dungeon. It makese sense for non-completion (to prevent farming the first chest for example). Reducing to 5 minutes should be plenty (and good time for organized 'breaks').

Although the gear is lovely and pretty, *I* believe it is nothing to be obsessed over, or to cause frustration over. Also, I believe the gear is MEANT to be very hard (and annoying) to get so as to help their exclusivitiy. It is 'nice' to have something that is so rare and exclusive that if anyone sees you with it, they will be shocked and amazed. Perhaps this is one of those items?

In the mean time, may I humbly suggest the following:
Do the DH/DH2/CC runs because you enjoy them.
If you get a prize at the end, yaaay, be happy.
If not, no biggy, you had some time out with friends.
you've said everything I wanted to say about this. I also think of salvage with these as well... for those who know that pain. Salvage was very difficult but you just had to think about it as hanging out with your friends for an hour and a half. Expecting drops isn't going to get you anything but misery. However when things do come out of it, you're known for it. Oh, that guy has an ares curiass ><;;; you know that person worked hard for the gear that they're wearing, and they get a certain amount of respect. If gear dropped like a gumball machine, there wouldn't be any point.

Totally agree about the burnout problem, and the lockout comments. I think their decision to "let people play however they want" via insignificant lockout timers has backfired. They've balanced the drop rate to prevent hardcore farmers from getting the gear too fast, but in the process they screwed everybody else and are burning out the hardcore farmers.

I don't know what the perfect fix is, but I'll toss out a suggestion: "Raid Allowances" (please don't hurt me). Give every player a raid allowance resource that they can spend to initiate a raid. You could have raid entry cost 2 points and refund 1 point for a loss or something, but the general idea is to let players retain flexibility of raid scheduling while controlling the amount of raid farming taking place. Managing the amount of farming allows for much less punishing drop rates and lets SE retain control over how fast gear is obtained. It also lets people grind out several clears in a row without a lockout timer and nobody has to sit around waiting. Schedule in advance with your LS when you want to burn through your raid allowances and do it.

I'm not saying this is the answer, I'm just saying I think there are a lot of other ways for SE to manage endgame content and loot rates that are preferable to what we have now. I really don't want to see our current system remain the FF14 standard, certainly not at these drop rates.

I am liking all the troll comments by the way. +1 for dayz.

On topic: I like your idea Raikki. I think that may work. But honestly, I don't have a sure fire solution myself. I just want to feel rewarded when finishing the dungeon. Because, I figure that's what it all boils down to.

I can transfer to Besaid and give you a Grade 5 Dark Matter everytime you complete a dungeon. It's the same reward as defeating Ifrit, so sounds like a good deal, eh?

It's a drop chance... this is why FFXIV will never be able to reach a point where casual-meets-"hardcore".
Players QQ that there is no "farm-able" content. SE gives it to us. Players QQ* because it takes too long.

*Yes, this is a QQ post.

Though I rarely agree with Jinko, he's absolutely right. You ran the dungeon way too many times with little break that you just got pissed off at SE for no reason. Geez, put the game down and take a breather!

Sadly, the drop rate falls under the Gambler's Fallacy. Silly me.

You seem angry, perhaps it's that time of the month and you need a ffxiv pad.

I don't think many of us will argue that speed runs are all that difficult, but the ones saying it haven't even done the dungeons yet which is a continuous source of amusement. It still takes coordination, patience, and yes competent players that aren't retarded to get it done. So skill is a relative term.

Back on topic, longer lockouts and higher drop rates prz. If I have to do these things I'd at least like to do them < 1000 times to get my linkshell geared out.

Runs require a strategy. The talent is being able to employ that strategy. I'm not saying it's difficult. I'm saying there is where the talent would come in to play.

Still dont see it, where is the "Skill", there is ways to do a Speed Run and that is classed as Skill because you can define it as a Strategy?

Is Camping in an FPS a Skill because its a Strategy?
