Haven't seen all of it yet but so far the new dungeon and the Pixie-Tribe seems to be fun and the new Ally-Raid is really awesome. Still disappointed with the lack of new Gold Saucer Reward and the way longer PVP queing times though.
Also I still need to check out Hades-EX, the new crafting system, job changes like NIN or SMN and the rest of the Main Story as I stopped for the day right after the dungeon.

Despite being a mastercraft since 2.0 this seems like a good thing to me: Anyone who wants a crafting challenge - like you - will get one (you'll even get a leaderboard for them), but it wont affect the market to much, meaning that even non-crafters with less income will be able to afford crafted gear. Making regular crafting more difficult OR RNG-heavy would result in higher prices on the market, which would mean that a lot of people dont have access to that gear. And yes, I know its fun to sell items that took you 2 minutes to make for millions, did that often enough... but at the end of the day thats not really all that good for the game.
So this seems like a good compromisse to me: You get a crafting-challenge, you get to show off with that leaderboard, but any crafting thats relevant to the game in regards to the rest of the population stays at a level that is mostly RNG-free and can be achieved by anyone, if they wish so (...many actually still dont).
Who knows, so long as hardcore crafters get content/recipes with super awesome rewards, I’m down for it. I hope if it is Ishgard, that the rewards are pretty sweet. Like some high stat gear and tools. Otherwise, the motivation for doing it will be pretty low, and a lot of other hardcore crafters I know on other servers will not do it either.

What rewards we are hoping for, for difficult Ishgard recipes:

    - High stat gear
    - or High stat tools
    - or High stat tools AND gear
    - or some super lewd glam...(cuz let’s be honest, if it’s not lewd nobody will care lol example: 2B’s butt)
    - or all of the above

Give us at least one of those, and I’ll grind the heck out of it! Hopefully it’ll be like PvP Feast where the rewards are updated every big patch.

As to whether this change will apply to all endgame recipes or just Ishgard recipes? Who knows, no real way to know until a future live letter leading up to 5.2.

I am "acutally please" with the patch, whatever that means.

I'm pretty much done with all of the new patch content for now.

The BLU stuff is what I'm looking forward to, honestly.

It's okay. I probably won't be playing very much now that I've done most of what I was looking forward to.

Can't say they've added anything that will keep me here, which is the norm.

I haven't dived into half what the patch has offered but so far I'm happy with the 24 man raid but overall nonplussed with the simplification of PVP and doubly so with the apparent removal of 24 man Frontlines. That said since I haven't played around with most of it I can't give a verdict either way.

I haven't had a chance to try new crafting yet, but I've loved everything else. New raid is fun with amazing music, msq had some great character moments and the new dungeon is super pretty, and I'm enjoying the pixies too.

    There're also 5.11 and 5.15 to consider.

So far I have done the new dungeon and some Frontline matches to get a taste of the new PvP adjustments.

Still need to do raid and try the crafting overhaul.

    • SAM changes: Shoha's pretty fun, but the Meditation interaction feels pretty awkward, given how often we end up hitting downtime already at 2 out of the 3 stacks possible.
    • NIN changes: Perfect iteration on TCJ. Ninjutsu, however, now feels sluggish as heck.
    • Other changes: Better than before, at least. (The Crown change on AST seem to have some unintended consequences for high levels of play by removing another source of banking and--essentially--RNG protection, and the SMN changes are both hit and miss, however.)
    • New raid: This is what passes for story-integration? Meanwhile, the raid itself is pretty fun, but did they really need to add so many death elements that would be out of our individual control (i.e. inadvertent PK opportunities). Would be nice to die more often from standing in the wrong place, rather than a tank running tether-bots through me, dropping precision guided missiles on the group, or giving the first boss an orb-shower.
    • New dungeon: Pretty meh. The mini-bosses in trash are a nice touch, but most everything else felt like a rehash, minus a couple of the final boss's mechanics. Though, said boss was especially weird in that sometimes the furniture can be shared for blue-cleanse if timed correctly and other times it can't, and when not shareable then someone may inevitably die just because one fewer furniture may spawn than there are blue flame debuffs.
