Is it just me, or somewhere around 3.3 - 3.5, people (on the forums anyway) started wanting more casual and/or dumbed down mechanics? Their opinions did a 180. Before that, people seemed to be 100% fine with the game. That's interesting, the biggest gate for new players has always been the ARR wall of fetch quests and slow, boring combat at low level. Anyone I've ever recommended the game to, who later decided it wasn't for them has given the same complaints. You even see people in novice network or shout trying to encourage the new players to stick with it, promising it will get better later.
If they want to focus on bringing new players in I think they missed the mark.
......what happened?
I actually not only agree with this I kinda prefer things the way they are, I know that’s not popular but I’m enjoying the game a lot more than I have in the past. They made a lot of great QOL changes in this past(for example) I just discovered they made the past expansion content collapsible in DF, I freaking love it.For better or worse, Shadowbringers is very much pandering to a new audience entirely. Everything, thus far, has been dumbed down or simplified, be it the jobs themselves, Savage or crafting. That isn't to say some changes weren't welcomed or the expansion wasn't good. Quite the contrary, especially in regards to the latter. But there is no question the game is more heavily catering towards attracting new players over maintaining existing ones.
I'm enjoying the patch quite a bit. The only thing I'm really disappointed about is the lack of info on a relic weapon for Shadowbringers but I'll live lol. I love the new raid and the changes to crafting and gathering make me actually want to level mine.
Outside of the Warg helms not working on Hrothgar (why SE?), I'm enjoying everything in this patch.
I like the patch.
Nier raid was fun, Hades looks like a good fight, I approve of the changes to crafters and definitely dig the changes to gatherers. (pun intended)
I do hope that they add more lore regarding the Nier raid. The dwarf into questline was a bit ... disconnected.
I'm a Ninja main, so having to relearn my job entirely is a bit of a hassle. I'm sure I'll get over it eventually. The Nier raid is not to my taste. The new dungeon is fun but not particularly memorable. I don't do crafting. This is a meh for me.
