So... anyone who is acutally please with the patch?

I know, I know. If people are happy, they don't come forward and complain. I love this patch.

The new raid is amazing. Love the music, the bossfights, the quests you get after clearing the raid.

New BT? Cute! Can't wait all the juicy rewards I can get here!

Oh look, Orchestrion rolls from the ShB zones now only require Rank 2 from fates. Nice!

New dungeon? Count me in! This is so nice! This is such a big place. Woow! Let me look at that ceiling! Last boss? God, we wiped thrice until we realised what to do here! Love. it!

New crafting? Let me get used to it. It actually doesn't look half bad.

    New crafting/gathering gear? Looks amazing!

    New PvP gear? Amaaazing!

New housing items? Really gave me the feeling SE answered the call of the housing community. So many items that were previous custom build (like the leather couch).

So... when I head to the forum to share my excitement and my joy... there is no place. There is only:"Crafting is broken" - "housing suxx" - "why is nier glamour locked in a chest?!"

So I really would like to know if I'm the only one thinking this is quite a big and enjoyable patch.

I haven't gotten to do anything other than the MSQ but I really enjoyed even that. I'm sure I'll enjoy the rest.

I havent done even half of what the patch brought - still missing the MSQ after the dungeon, aswell as the Nier-raid and I didnt had time to re-organise my crafters yet.

While not everything is totally to my taste - I dont really like the look of that new PvP-gear, but hey, thats okay, theres other stuff for me to wear! - all in all I'm really happy with what I've seen so far! Sure, I'll need to write new macros for crafting but this also gives me a good reason to clean up my crafting macros and delete all the old ones for good, considering that they wont work anymore.

My static had a lot of fun wiping to Hades yesterday, trying to figure out the mechanics.

The beast-tribe quests promises to be super cute and creepy and I'm loving it!
All this new furniture might actually push me over the edge and make me re-do my house - something I havent done since I bought it 2 years ago. But now, with all those new stuff, I'm really excited to do something different with it!
I also agree with you on the dungeon - such a beautiful place and I really liked this "high fantasy" vibe with those ghostly elves! Not a total fan of the "carry an item out of an AoE"-mechanic, but besides that the boss-fights were fun.

...the forums however are, what they've always been, specially when it comes to patches and added content and the like. You cant please everyone and we should be so honest and acknowledge that in some regards they have a point (mainly eyeing at you, housing...).
Just find comfort in the thought that everyone whos enjoying the game is probably to busy playing it and doesnt has the time to come here and post about that! (People might also be holding back a bit on quest- or raid-discussions to not spoil anything - at least thats what I want to believe... that someone whos enjoying quests wont spoil that on day-one for the rest)

All in all: Been enjoying this patch so far and am really looking forward to our FC-NieR-run this evening! (And thanks for that "orchestrion rolls only require rank 2"-info! I hadnt checked yet, but that means I can actually get them all!)

I’m happy for casual crafters with the new changes, but for hardcore crafters like myself, I’m at a loss. This is what Yoshida said just two days ago:

    Q. From what i've heard so far, it seems like the "high end recipes" won't be craftable with macros

Y: The normal recipes will be craftable if you set them up properly, but the difficult recipes will require you to use the actions with procs properly when they show up and we'd like to design it where you have to actually observe the current situation.

    Q. The current crafting system allows you to ignore HQ mats and use macros to craft HQ items.

Y: I thought that part was broken, so DoL/DoH will have overall adjustments. It will change entirely and new crafters and gatherers can instantly understand what to do and what does what.

But, the endgame recipes currently aren’t anything like he described. So, I’m honestly confused as to when this will happen for endgame recipes. Or, if it’ll only apply to ishgard recipes.

Considering that Ishgard restoration was constantly refered to as "endgame content for crafters" it seems very likely he meant that, yes.
Despite being a mastercraft since 2.0 this seems like a good thing to me: Anyone who wants a crafting challenge - like you - will get one (you'll even get a leaderboard for them), but it wont affect the market to much, meaning that even non-crafters with less income will be able to afford crafted gear. Making regular crafting more difficult OR RNG-heavy would result in higher prices on the market, which would mean that a lot of people dont have access to that gear. And yes, I know its fun to sell items that took you 2 minutes to make for millions, did that often enough... but at the end of the day thats not really all that good for the game.
So this seems like a good compromisse to me: You get a crafting-challenge, you get to show off with that leaderboard, but any crafting thats relevant to the game in regards to the rest of the population stays at a level that is mostly RNG-free and can be achieved by anyone, if they wish so (...many actually still dont).

Who knows, so long as hardcore crafters get content/recipes with super awesome rewards, I’m down for it. I hope if it is Ishgard, that the rewards are pretty sweet. Like some high stat gear and tools. Otherwise, the motivation for doing it will be pretty low, and a lot of other hardcore crafters I know on other servers will not do it either.

What rewards we are hoping for, for difficult Ishgard recipes:

    - High stat gear
    - or High stat tools
    - or High stat tools AND gear
    - or some super lewd glam...(cuz let’s be honest, if it’s not lewd nobody will care lol example: 2B’s butt)
    - or all of the above

Give us at least one of those, and I’ll grind the heck out of it! Hopefully it’ll be like PvP Feast where the rewards are updated every big patch.

As to whether this change will apply to all endgame recipes or just Ishgard recipes? Who knows, no real way to know until a future live letter leading up to 5.2.

Curious on that myself. If items sell for 2 million, it's usually because it took expensive melds, time and effort to get to the stage where you could even make that item (sometimes even more than the profit you make) and there also needs to be buyers. I agree it's not healthy if a bulk of necessary items are exclusive, or it's so exclusive 1-2 crafters per DC have monopoly, but otherwise I don't see the issue if it's a tiny handful of vanity items.

Currently the high end items consist of the crafter gear, 2 glams and 3 Hade's items. In the same way people ask why casuals even need raid gear when they complain tomes are capped, I'd ask why casual crafters need the new crafter set and must have access to those 5 vanity items when they already have a few thousand other items available?

You don't. Macros have already been made, now requiring less steps than previously. All that's changed is you need some HQ mats depending on your Control. Otherwise, it's just as much of a joke as it was before.

I disagree. End game gear should not be something you can make with no effort whatsoever. The current ease of crafting completely destroys the markets since everything becomes increasingly oversaturated, and at a much faster rate than ever before. At no point in four years except possibly the last two or so weeks of an odd numbered patch did I ever see end game crafted gear dip to below five digits. That happened with the i450 stuff in under a month. And I'm sorry but no, the "I don't have as much gil" argument doesn't fly for me when they've introduced so many alternatives to gearing. Eden Normal gear is easier than ever to obtain; you have the augmented i460 in an odd patch (which really should be upgraded through crafting a new mat), and finally all the old methods remain.

Nothing ever stayed in the millions; usually settling in the mid to low six digits for the remainder of the raid tier. I don't see how that was ever a problem.

Forgive me if I don't buy for a moment Ishgard will be endgame. Not only do I doubt it will offer anywhere near the equivalent gil but more importantly, I don't believe the dev team created a system that will make anything remotely hard since practically everything in Shadowbringers has become increasingly simplified. Not to mention, Yoshida literally said he found no HQ macros and macros in general to be broken yet the changes made things even easier.

Two main complaints I have is them not fixing issues with 24 man raid loot, and the overhaul of PvP abilities...

But other than that, so far it's been pretty nice.
