Is it just me, or somewhere around 3.3 - 3.5, people (on the forums anyway) started wanting more casual and/or dumbed down mechanics? Their opinions did a 180. Before that, people seemed to be 100% fine with the game. That's interesting, the biggest gate for new players has always been the ARR wall of fetch quests and slow, boring combat at low level. Anyone I've ever recommended the game to, who later decided it wasn't for them has given the same complaints. You even see people in novice network or shout trying to encourage the new players to stick with it, promising it will get better later.
If they want to focus on bringing new players in I think they missed the mark.
......what happened?
My NIN is very pleased, now that I can direct hit-Crit for 100k
SO far I've been loving the new Gathering changes. Feels like I can go faster by just clicking Auto harvest and moving about to get all the stuff I need.
The devs must've read my mind because they did two things I was praying for, the first being making all mount actions instacast, and the second being giving BLU Brute Justice's J-Kick.
Well they buffed all jobs, only monk and black mage got nothing, so even dragoon does more damage than monk now. Makes no sense to me, a job that gives crit and a teather, besides they nerfed anatman's opening. It's like they said okay monk was top dps so we are just gonna gut him and buff all others while not solving any of the monk problems. So not very happy with the patch, although I feel like smn got some deserved buffs but machinist needs a lot more dps than what's doing right now.

No, it doesn't. Dragoon was buffed because Monk was already overpowered and SE tries to avoid nerfs at every opportunity even if it would be the more sensible choice. 1.7% buff doesn't put Dragoon anywhere near toppling Monk. With that said, I'll point out Monk does have Mantra which is utility no other melee can offer. Even with it being nerfed, it's still quite useful.

Have you checked fflogs 99 %? I guess you haven't... dragoon does slight more rdps damage then monk. As does smn, blm and sam. And monk still has 2 useless skills laying there, add that to anatman's being a gcd now plus dragoon getting personal dps buffs oh and the mantra nerf. While dragoon has a much better rotation and the job feels better to play, monk on the other hand has so many problems that the way they solve it is by giving it more dps. I'm not very happy... at all.Sigh...

Have you? Because the only fight Dragoon has a noticeably lead—or even a lead, period—is Titan as of 5.1. Bear in mind, this is with only 27 and 13 uploads, respectively. That is far from enough to accurately determine an average, especially when the better players aren't regularly clearing Savage any longer. I won't deny Dragoon plays better but that is a separate argument. Monk has better utility than Dragoon, thus them being closer in damage makes sense. As for the remaining jobs you mentioned, Black Mage and Samurai should beat Monk. Hell, Samurai has been a meme since its inception because it's the selfish melee equivalent that couldn't ever parse ahead of its utility based counterparts. Summoner is the one stand out yet one could argue it, too, should be ahead (or at least comparable) because outside of Raise, it offers very little. That said, the fact it's fighting Black Mage for top DPS and utterly annihilating Red Mage is a problem with how poorly balanced Shadowbringers has been overall.Have you checked fflogs 99 %?
