An off patch with no new tomes and Savage really should have included the new relic weapons. Basically we need a good time waster.

I love the AST changes. CU is back to its former strength and the Minor Arcana change makes things all that much more smooth to play. The damage boost is a nice icing on the cake. RDM feels a bit more consistent and SMN, while its taking getting used to, also feels better. I plan on leveling my bard now that "mah job fantasy" has been re-implemented.
The nier raid was fun and while I haven't cleared Hades EX yet I did enjoy the progress I did make. I'm a little sad I haven't gotten a 2B dress yet but my turn will come soon enough.

Haven't had much time to play yet but I'm appreciating the UI changes. Hopefully I will touch some more content soon, which there is quite a bit of it for me to try.
Best patch ever for Shadowbringers because of 1 thing.
Removal of forced auto logout when idle... >.>
The other stuff is just icing on the cake at that point.

The crafting changes is a lot to take in but for the most part I think this will be for the better. HQ materials matters more than ever and it's much better for new players. Material prices are dropping for sub 80 stuff with everyone desynthing, though they might rise if more people pick up trades.
I've been playing for about 6 years and I've seen this game go through many patches. a lot of the changes have been for the better, but sometimes I have to ask 'why?'. this is one of those times where I wonder why certain things are being changed. there's a saying that goes 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it',I feel they attempted to fix things here which were not broken. i'm not entirely unhappy with everything, there is a lot of stuff i do like, but i'm starting to feel like the game is pandering to certain type of player. it's not something that's easy to pinpoint, it just feels wrong is all.
Let me sum it up for you in one image.I've been playing for about 6 years and I've seen this game go through many patches. a lot of the changes have been for the better, but sometimes I have to ask 'why?'. this is one of those times where I wonder why certain things are being changed. there's a saying that goes 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it',I feel they attempted to fix things here which were not broken. i'm not entirely unhappy with everything, there is a lot of stuff i do like, but i'm starting to feel like the game is pandering to certain type of player. it's not something that's easy to pinpoint, it just feels wrong is all.

For better or worse, Shadowbringers is very much pandering to a new audience entirely. Everything, thus far, has been dumbed down or simplified, be it the jobs themselves, Savage or crafting. That isn't to say some changes weren't welcomed or the expansion wasn't good. Quite the contrary, especially in regards to the latter. But there is no question the game is more heavily catering towards attracting new players over maintaining existing ones.I've been playing for about 6 years and I've seen this game go through many patches. a lot of the changes have been for the better, but sometimes I have to ask 'why?'. this is one of those times where I wonder why certain things are being changed. there's a saying that goes 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it',I feel they attempted to fix things here which were not broken. i'm not entirely unhappy with everything, there is a lot of stuff i do like, but i'm starting to feel like the game is pandering to certain type of player. it's not something that's easy to pinpoint, it just feels wrong is all.
"Stand in the ashes of a trillion dead souls and ask the ghosts if honor matters."
"The silence is your answer."
That's interesting, the biggest gate for new players has always been the ARR wall of fetch quests and slow, boring combat at low level. Anyone I've ever recommended the game to, who later decided it wasn't for them has given the same complaints. You even see people in novice network or shout trying to encourage the new players to stick with it, promising it will get better later. For better or worse, Shadowbringers is very much pandering to a new audience entirely. If they want to focus on bringing new players in I think they missed the mark.
