Spawned quest mobs...

I was doing the Pixie quest for spawning a mob the other day, and I started fighting it, some rando showed up and started attacking it, so I stopped and let them do it. Then my quest was finished and theirs wasn't, so they had to spawn theirs and do it again. Serves them right. I didn't need help.

You must be a real blast at parties.

I guarantee you that the other person didn't care. If they did, they wouldn't have helped. Keep on "punishing" people for trying to be nice or whatever, though.

I hate BLM in this game and suck terribly at it, i can't solo anything to save my life.

I don't want the free ride, I want the struggle and achievement of defeating the monster on my own.

I suspect a large dose of sarcasm but here goes:

Click Fire III -> Click Enochian -> mash Fire IV till oom -> Mob should be dead by now.
You will learn nothing on quest mobs. If you want to learn, you need mobs that last far longer than puny quest mobs.
I recommend training dummies in the housing area as a start, once you get to terms with what you do, go into a trust dungeon. Mobs there last long enough to get through fire and ice cycles and there are no other players that yell at you for doing it wrong.

That's not what's happening though. People are upset over the lack of challenge. There's definitely a difference between fighting a spawn on your own, or having multiple others attack it as well.

What challenge though? It's ultimately just another random enemy you have to fight. You're standing in a whole field of them. Go do a FATE and get the same degree of challenge; take off some armour if you want it to be more difficult.

It's a communal game where you can help people get through things. It makes more sense to me that you help kill the enemies already there, rather than triggering your own set alongside them and adding to the chaos.

There's going to be New Game Plus that lets you replay these quests anyway, if you want the solo experience later.

I love that you and others assume it must be helping and not because they seek to gain something. If someone wants to """help""" me fight an easy mob, they can ask me if I need help. Being """helped""" without requesting it is patronizing. Also I don't think I ever said "I'll punish these people for trying to help me", so I don't know where you keep getting that from, Mr. Strawman.

I arrive at a quest location where you have spawned your version of the enemy. I am not going to trigger mine on top of yours, especially if there'll be insanity like the chocobo meteors.

Option 1: Sit and wait for you to finish, then spawn and kill mine.
My time spent: 2

Option 2: Help you kill your monster twice as fast, then kill mine.
My time spent: 1.5

It might benefit you to be selfish, but it benefits me to be helpful.

(On top of, believe it or not, actually wanting to be helpful.)

I don't really find it annoying, if anything I just help by AOEing everything down along with my quest mobs when patch day hits.

It is kind of annoying just in that you sometimes end up killing a handful of other enemies before yours because they all pop in the same place. I haven't found it to be a big deal though. I can understand it being an issue where the intention of the spawned monster was to be challenging for you and you alone, but I can't recall any time where I felt this was intended (and they usually do stuff like that in special instances anyway).

"Serves them right" is pretty much a direct implication that you think it's a punishment. You're not really correct on that, but it's still clear that's what you think.
