    5.1 Crafting Feedback Thread

    Figured a thread like this is more appropriate. How do you guys like the new 5.1 changes to endgame crafting?

    Me personally, I hardly found a difference in difficulty when making Facet crafting gear.

    You do not need HQ mats to HQ the endgame Facet crafting gear. At all. You can easily HQ it with all NQ mats.

    Let me quote Yoshida real quick:

    Q. From what i've heard so far, it seems like the "high end recipes" won't be craftable with macros

    Y: The normal recipes will be craftable if you set them up properly, but the difficult recipes will require you to use the actions with procs properly when they show up and we'd like to design it where you have to actually observe the current situation.

    Q. The current crafting system allows you to ignore HQ mats and use macros to craft HQ items.

    Y: I thought that part was broken, so DoL/DoH will have overall adjustments. It will change entirely and new crafters and gatherers can instantly understand what to do and what does what.

    Yet, they are still easy and a joke? Whaaaaat, this is actually laughable now, rather than worrisome haha.

    For the record - I don't think these are the 'difficult' recipes in question.

    From the way it sounds, the "Difficult" stuff is going to be in the ranking system in Ishgard, and wasn't going to arrive until the rework is complete, which they stated to be in 5.2, when the rankings start in earnest.

    Well, if that’s true, it should be coming out in February or January I assume. Also, I’m sure Yoshida knows this by now but, if the rewards for completing these recipes are underwhelming or not worth anyone’s time, hardcore players will not do it. (myself included) So hopefully, it’s something like high end tools/ gear locked behind difficult recipes. Because a shiny Title that says “congrats for being number one” and a tool glamour that nobody will use is quite lackluster. If it was like, some super lewd glamour wearable for both genders, then yeah I can see some folks doing it lol. But obviously tools and gear are preferred.

    I’m glad the casual players are enjoying the changes though, they have nothing to worry about pretty much. Just wish Yoshida clarified a little more on the difficult recipes...l

    When I am finally ready to craft 460 gear which will be in the coming weeks. I plan to use HQ items simply cause I am not the most knowledgable on crafting and the fact that I have been using HQ items as often as I can. As for the systems current state I really dont have opinion right now.

    I love it personally. Great that they rolled the new macros out already, but also that it's way less of a pain since you don't need to worry so much about overlapping buffs. The new 100% trained eye makes crafting levekits and sub materials a ton more convenient. Great direction for them to go in

    I personally think they should of kept careful synthesis 3 ,steady hand 2, comfort zone!!

    They aren't needed with the new system to be honest. And we do have Careful Synth III. It's just called Careful Synthesis. Same thing.

    Steady Hand.... um, nah, we didn't really need that after the changes, because everything except Hasty Touch and Rapid Synth are 100%. Hopefully at some point they will add conditional procs to those like they did with Focused Synth/Touch.

    And Comfort Zone was kinda meh. Just how many different CP management buttons did we REALLY need? I think we're fine with having a saver (Waste Not) and a restorer (Mend).

    EDIT: To the OP, maybe current endgame craftables are still broken, but next expansion is going to be different? Maybe they decided against dumping that many changes on the playerbase, and they want us to get used to this stuff before adding uber difficult stuff?

    Also, the 2nd quote of his is spot on: as a newbie to crafting (I leveled my stuff with beast tribes), I "got it" in like 10 minutes. It's so smooth and streamlined and sensible without 40+ buttons to be all confusing as to what one should do.

    It was so much easier ! You got people who can't do the new rotations! I for one got so use to the old rotations! I'm not sure if I want to continue to play ! Since it changes almost every time I turn around!
