Launcher showing black screen

Hi,

After today's maintenance game launcher showing just black window and nothing else, after 2-3 minutes of waiting it is giving scrip error:

After clicking either yes or no it is showing white page with notification:

Due to ongoing maintenance, this page is currently unavailable.

But it is my understanding that maintenance is over ?

Tried uninstalling game and reinstalling it and still getting same black screen.

Newest directx is installed, newest VC destribution is installed, IE setting reset to default, everything else runs find just not your launcher, need a fix now please.

I'm having this problem as well. Did every fix I could find searching through Google and none of them worked, short of uninstalling and reinstalling the game. Though since this is more an issue related to Internet Explorer, that likely wouldn't help either.

For the record, I'm also on Windows 7.

Okay, so I've been messing around with various things all morning, and I've fixed this issue for myself.

If you're on Windows 7 like me, check and see what version of Internet Explorer you have. I had IE9, so I updated to IE11 and this has fixed the issue for me!

If you're still getting this specific error after updating to IE11, then I dunno. But I think this is the solution.

Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

As the above poster mentioned, the game will use the Internet Explorer web browser to connect to the internet so make sure it's updated. Also, check the following settings in Internet Explorer:

Open Internet Explorer, then open the "Tools" setting, go to "Internet Options" and adjust the following settings:
- Under the "General" tab, please delete ALL browser history.
- Under the "Security" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or no higher than "Medium"
- Under the "Privacy" tab, click “Advanced” and select ‘Accept’ under both First Party and Third Party Cookies.
- Under the "Advanced" tab, please make sure that "Allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid" is CHECKED.
- Make sure that all SSL and TLS (EXCEPT SSL 3.0) are CHECKED. [SSL 3.0 should be UNCHECKED]
- Hit "Apply" to save the settings, and then "OK, to close the Internet Options menu.

If you're on Windows 7 like me, check and see what version of Internet Explorer you have. I had IE9, so I updated to IE11 and this has fixed the issue for me!

Can confirm. Updating from IE9 to IE11 fixed this for me too on Win7x64.

Oh great! This was Of huge help! Had this issue since the last update, will try and update ei9 to 11. They are facing out the old launcher, does anyone know of what the new one has for requirements? Like, idk internet explorer 11 or directs version etc.
