The New/Added Combat Sounds...Thoughts?

While I understand the dev team's desire to use assets that have long existed, but couldn't be implemented, I feel that this is one of the things for which they underestimated the ramifications.

I've heard Yoshi's request to try it out, which I did (though admittedly reluctantly). Even with my best efforts I cannot get used to the changes to my character's voice, if only because her original sounds are just so rare now, and the new ones just don't fit the image I've grown of my character over the past few years.

I stand by my original request, which should be technically feasible and easy enough to do: make it an option that one can toggle. Various players have mentioned reverting the changes; that's not going to make the people happy who do appreciate the new sounds. Various other players have also suggested making it an option, which I still consider the one-size-fits-all solution.

Please give us the option to use the original battle voices.

A full month later, I still find myself avoiding my melee jobs. The original battle sounds that sounded satisfying are just too rare now, too often replaced with more aggressive sounds that I don't find suiting my character.


Besides that, I've also become more aware of other player's battle sounds and regularly find them quite distracting in how all-over-the-place some sound, or the volume of the various cries are just too varying (some okay, some more quiet, some significantly louder).


I've done my honest best to see if I can't make it work, but I still very much prefer the original battle sounds. I'd very, very much like the option to revert to those.
