My male Hyur thankfully doesn't seem to be impacted too badly... I noticed an extra 'grunt' that wasn't there before, but other sounds are the same... but quieter.

I've only noticed one new sound in mine albeit very quiet. It's fine though, it's nice for some variety.
I tried to hear my new battle voice additions, which I was excited for b/c her 2 battle yells sound extremely similar. To my dismay, I could not tell any difference. I use voice 1 on Veena Viera. Still enjoy her regular voice though
EDIT: I -think- I heard a little grunt with my sound turned up pretty loud and no music. The grunt did sound a little low, but reasonable. I guess the only negative is since this very low grunt in my character's voice rotation, it's made her much quieter since that slot of a battle voice is basically inaudible. Still, hearing the same HYUP! and HUP! over and over again might be nice to be a little quieter![]()

I was playing a bit last night and thought my character's voice sounded a bit off. Didnt realize it was new combat voices. Not saying its a good or bad thing for me, just didnt expect this. Now I gotta go home and really listen in on this.
Is it particularly for melee based jobs? IIRC casters didnt really have combat voices, and ranged was somewhat limited? Could be misremembering this though.
Casters don’t make combat sounds (I guess we’re all non-verbal spellcasters in this game). Tanks and melee aren’t as loud as the physical ranged are, though. I tested out the new sounds on both a melee DPS and a physical ranged on a Striking Dummy, and the noises were very apparent on both BRD and DNC (though, DNC steps don’t make a sound any more when you use them like they did before).I was playing a bit last night and thought my character's voice sounded a bit off. It’s only really jarring to hear the two sounds that are about an octave or more higher than my character’s default voice. They sound louder than all the rest—and it’s quite annoying to hear her randomly going NYAH! NYAH! during combat when she never made a sound like that before. Her default sounds are definitely less frequent in usage—instead I get the annoying new sound described here more often than not.

I'm actually quite happy with mine.
I think I'm male elezen voice 2? It's a nasally one, and the additional voices seem to compliment it well enough that they don't seem out of place or anything.
I'm happy with my male miqo's too but I can't recall his voice... I want to say 10 or 11 but I don't know.
The Crystal Exarch's is... unfortunate. Quack Quack.
Just tested it by smacking a few mobs.
I have the "mature" Miqo'te voice and the new sounds fit in nicely. They are pretty quiet though, oftentimes getting drowned out by weapon noises.
Oh well, if it were up to me Ifalna wouldn't battle yelp at all. That's why I love playing casters. They are focused, silent and deadly. :P
Certainly much much better than my Draenei fared when WoW added new sounds. ... She has a split personality now. >.<
If they're going to make changes to our characters without asking us, they should at least give us a Fantasia for free so we don't have to pay them for the privilege of them screwing up our characters.

I'm using voice 3 on my cat (the Yukari Tamura one), and the new grunt sounds like it's from her as well. So I can't complain about this addition.
