Idea: Apartment Suites for Free companies

I think that a few key changes to how apartments work would help solve the housing issues in FF.

Apartments could be split to two types:

Personal Apartments
Handled as they are currently, these are the apartments we already have. If possible, the ability to purchase a deluxe apartment would make these perfect. A deluxe apartment could have the floor plan if a small / medium / large house and be priced like buying that size of house. Players could be able to change their apartment floor plan at the front desk as long as they met the same requirements that relocating that size of house would have.

Free Company Suites:
These could default to a small fc house floor plan (with expansion to medium and large available at the front desk, etc) and include free company rooms. Workshops could be included for equality’s sake OR limited to FC House only. The FC rooms within the FC Suite would not need to work differently from how fc rooms work today.

This sort of system would be super flexible for both individuals and free companies. It would also allow for SE to make and release more styles of interior layout.

I actually do like this idea, but as I've said in a previous thread, the price of apartments/the alternative needs to match the price of housing (If you're getting equal sizes) or it's kind of a big disparity. The option for this, however, is wonderful.

No, the cost does not need to be the same. You don't get a front yard. You don't get a garden plot, you don't have control over the stables - there's a lot you WOULDN'T get with an apartment that you could only get with a house. So no. No the price does not need to be the same.

With a system like this they could theoretically allow people to purchase, say, the interior style of a Lavender Beds medium house, but have their apartment in the Goblet, or create and release an interior style to match areas where housing doesn’t exist (such as Crystarium, Ishgard, etc).

It could provide a good money sink since more people would be able to make a 50 million gil purchase and upgrade their apartment to a mansion style, stimulating the furniture crafting market.

Yes, this is exactly the kind of thing I'd like to see happen with apartments!

For the FC suites, I'd be in favor of the workshop being available, especially if the price of an apartment was comparable to that of a small house.

Congratulations, you have posted the first thread in the housing forum to actually provide a viable solution in ages.

After discussing the idea with a friend they pointed out what might be stopping this idea. The houses in the wards might all be physically laid out on the same map, rather than being their own instances.

If this is the case, and if for some reason SE is not able to use my idea as originally suggested, apartment suits could be handled the same as wards, each set of apartments set up on the menu in the same way as a ward is displayed. While yes this would mean mediums and larges were still very limited in number, adding just a single apartment suits npc to each ward and subward would more than double the available number of houses.

In the future they could add another page of apartment suits instead of new wards, and it would give twice as many houses open as presently gotten from opening a single ward (adding two pages would release more new suits than launching 3 new wards).
