Screwed by a lobby error

Spent all day timing myself from Aetheryte to plot board to figure out the best route and time I could get, logged in to the second of 6am EST...all of it for nothing. Lobby error, back out, log back in, 500+ in queue hearing them vanish one by one as I login to find my dream plot is gone. To add insult to injury the same FC tag took 2 of them. I'm so frustrated I can't even enjoy the rest of the patch...

I'm sorry. I know how you feel because the same exact thing happened to me. I plotted my route, practiced, logged out in central shroud as dnc so I would have access to peloton and en evant, carefully timed it down to the second so I could hit play the instant it went live then get the lobby error. After I managed to log in again it took my character like two full minutes to load, after which I got stuck in a really long queue. By the time I finally got in, all of my dream plots were gone.

I'm also incredibly frustrated right now, but I think I'll still enjoy the patch I hope you're able to as well once the disappointment wears off a bit.

I got it twice. Ended up 254 in queue. Got lucky and still managed to snag one of the two plots I wanted- #45 in Mist. Wanted either that or 35, but 35s were gone before I got in.

I blame Balmung for killing our data center.

It was hard getting in on Hyperion too - it would kick you back out to the title screen and give the error that "world data was unavailable."

I'm glad I camped in the Goblet <_> Zero competition for 2 minutes until people realized that everywhere else had already lost their larger plots... Plus, I think I'm one of the few that actually likes the Goblet. :x

Lobby server errors back to back: 1700 in queue by the time it let me in. All of my practice, my farming to get the 20 million gil, all of it for absolutely nothing.

INSTANCE HOUSING NOW THIS IS STUPID AND INFURIATING.

If you want to make everyone happy, FINE. Keep the wards as they are but add ONE ward of instanced housing for those of us WHO JUST WANT A GOD DARN HOUSE!!!!!!!!

Congratulations! I actually like 45 a bit more than 35, if I were going to get a large that would be my top choice.

I like parts of the Goblet, but I prefer Lavender Beds and Mist. Like a lot of people unfortunately lol.

I grabbed a plot someone else relocated from that hadn't even been on my radar in Lavender Beds. Then I ended up really loving it, so it turned out great for me. Plot 60, it has the waterfall and giant tree in the background.

Plot 60 in the Lav Beds is beautiful! My fiance, a couple of friends, and I have shared plot 58 for quite some time and we love it. Easily one of the most underrated corners of the ward. It'd be nice if there was a swimming pool nearby though.

I think the best plot I've ever had though was plot 20 in the Goblet - a small, but it was *right* by the pools. It was great leaving the front yard and having a place to swim right at your doorstep. Plus, it got all glowy + misty at night

Saw a post on reddit today offering to sell the plot I was trying to get for 260 million gil... made me sick to my stomach. I’m not sure how SE could even prevent exchanges like that. Honestly if the problem of plot reselling could be solved to where people couldn’t coordinate things like an instant move and relocate for that would likely solve alot of what’s wrong with the housing system. I realize it’s a tough problem to solve but that’s likely the base of housing problem; people creating other characters on different servers or fake fcs to buy extra houses to resell somewhere offline.

The lobby error thing has happened to me too before on one of the times SE added more wards and I failed to relocate. And other times it was simply because I did not get on quick enough. At least you're not homeless.

True and I am thankful for that, I was just really hoping to get the plot my girlfriend and I want the most. I think if SE could solve the problem of people selling and trading plots it would be a huge step to solving the housing problem. Too many people exploiting the relocation system. As for actually buying a house the random timer system they put in place just seems like it wastes too much time, I'd like to see changes made there as well. Maybe a scheduled time each week for certain plots to refresh as far as when they'll be made available for purchase. Relocation is a trickier problem to solve.
