Novice Chat and the Need for a change.

Honestly, Novice Chat needs a massive change. I'm not sure how other servers work out, but you have people posting adult websites, others defending it, stupid and ridiculous bickering, chats full of mentors and nothing from sprouts, and no moderation for mentors themselves. Some will try to keep it peaceful, some will kick willy nilly, some will act as though they are a mod themselves when all they are is just like the rest of us and share a cold personality to others.

Early morning NN is usually the most toxic and cancerous from my experience and it finally took a sprout to shut us all down when the pot kept being stirred by us:

This game is rated T for teen and I am sure the invitation to the chat does not involve random chatter and the chance an adult website will be mentioned, especially when we all know children play this game regardless of its rating, up to and including families. I wont post screenshots because I don't want anyone taking anyone's side, but I am asking the devs or whoever that can make the change, to make one.

No more gatherers/crafters, no more grinders, no more commendations. Novice chat needs a complete changeover or needs to be removed for something better. We could have separate chats like in other games, or a better system to where us mentors are moderated just as we seem to "moderate" the novice chat. Enough is enough, reports don't seem to do a single thing. It is time for a change and this new 5.1 update is not enough to curtail the abuse of the chat.

Never had an issue with NN on Lamia. A few got booted for trying to stir things up talking politics or whatever, and a few tried to argue they should be allowed, but the stupid stuff was quashed quite effectively. Basically mentor warns, then if it doesnt stop he kicks. Thats how it needs to be.

I have been on both the Adamantoise and Brynhildr NN for quite some time, and they aren't nearly as bad as your time in the NN has been. The two worst things that can happen is it turning into a general chat, and the large amount of mentors vs small number of sprouts. I can't say how these issues can be fixed as I'm feeling out of it and not willing to type a paragraph more, but I feel getting rid of the crown and thusly crown cravers would help alleviate them by reducing mentor count in the NN.

I don’t witness too much drama in Cactuar’s NN. When new players or sprouts ask questions, the mentors in there are generally good at giving them answers. Sure, there’s idle chat going on, but sometimes the sprouts and returners join in on it. So I don’t see the harm there, personally.

NN in Adamantoise has been peaceful an helpful so far, I wish they don't kick me out after I lose my sprout after a few more of main quests.

The NN in Coeurl is seems pretty chill. More sprouts than mentors and there doesn't seem to be many toxic players there from what I've seen. Although, we can get a bit off topic..

I actually like the general chat part of NN, just as long as it didnt get into real world politics. I miss it now Im not a sprout.

When I was on NN on Cerberus, it was alright, people were actually being helpful and throwing banters. Mind you, that was many moons ago, I left as soon as I figured out how as I genuinely enjoy having my chat as quiet as possible. I am not sure what it is like now and I am not interested in joining NN again but I heard people were posting porn links.... :/
