On a less sarcastic note, I'll reiterate what I said on the PLD thread about WAR. I wouldn't be surprised if it gets nerfed eventually, because people overuse it right now.

Also, the current new dungeons are the player's main activities at end-game, and players don't like to have variety with their strategies and will stack classes. It's happened with LNC stacking at Ifrit, it's happened with the same Ifrit with THM stacking, now it's Chimera and Miser with BLM stacking. Right now, WAR is preferred for both tanking and DDing at close range. Come some patch, everything will change and the flavor of the month will be another class/job. So it has been so far, and so it will still be.


Which makes me wonder why SE, in its video introducing Cutter's Cry, had a BALANCED party of 2 WHMs and one of all the other jobs ? Well it's pretty simple : Because it can work, but we, the player community, don't want to bother playing as a TEAM whose members complement each other and prefer to play a group of soloists by stacking classes/jobs. Much easier that way I suppose.

In short : Neither DRG nor MNK are useless by design. We decided them to be. And that "decision" is still a bit far-fetched, because so far about the only examples I've been given were the bosses from instances... Once again, I wasn't aware I was playing Instance Fantasy XIV.
