So basically yeah dumb down the game. Gamers these days are just pathetic, all they want is to get shit handed to them.

Yea I know dude, right ?
People don't want to come home from a hard day at work and have to go back to work in a virtual setting.
.... oh ok maybe some of you do.
Gamers these days .. Honestly !!
What does working have to do with anything? We have people in our ls that work full time jobs yet can still do speed runs. It's nothing to do with time and a lot more to do with skill and effort put forth.

I thought it was well established that melees perform extremely well in Aurum Vale? At the risk of sounding inflammatory, I honestly don't see the point in this 5 chest all jobs challenge because it seems so obvious that it's possible.
Dancing Mad (Excalibur Server)

It perform well, for sure, i did some decent damage on coincutter, not as much as a blm (from parser), and very well on Mistress (for mnk), we did try to switch a mnk to a drg on mistress, and it was not so well (for the timer, not the fight).
Dealing with coincutter can be frustrating as melee, it is doable, but you need to understand him well, how he work, when he's going to TP move, someone that haven't deal with him yet, will throw a skills and get stuck while NM is doing a 100T Swing (AoE 4k) and make the party in danger (because he doesn't fall down).
It's possible to access 5th Chest, i don't know about the 5 chest together, with all the jobs in the pty.
As for trash mob you'd better go with blm for their variety of AoE's, it's way faster.
With a blm / mnk setup, the timer after the mistress is killed, is ahead 2min~ before the speed run timer end.

Speed runs are hard! CC has trash mobs that die in 10 seconds, AV has 15-20 mobs you gotta sleep and a few you gotta kill to get to the first bosses.... It all comes down to killing the "bosses" fast enough to make a speed run chest.
Speed run chests should have unique loot, they should not have the -best- loot.

The best thing about the new dungeons is that the most useful pieces are only available during speed runs. This is how it should be, the best pieces are the most difficult to get. How can you argue against this?
Count the number of people completing speed runs over and over and over and over and over.... its not hard, its just boring and repetitive. Ramp up dungeon difficulty, make the fifth chest a reward for clearing all mobs, and increase the drop rate by a little. The best armor isn't rewarded for -difficulty- as it stands now.

Had one time recently when we finished Cutter's Cry with 39 minutes left. I couldn't believe it. I think all the stars had aligned and everyone in the group was on their game 150%.
speed runs are for the skilled. if you can't do it then you're not skilled in many ways. if you're going to complain about it then you obviously don't deserve the gear it rewards players with nor have the drive to overcome what obstacles are in your way.
the gear is meant to be prestigious and with this system in place, it IS prestigious.
we've managed to complete the new dungeons with over 41 minutes on the clock using 6 of the 7 jobs throughout the run meaning any combination of jobs is usable!
