Speed Run + Timer

All I hear are the people who cant clear the dungeon with ANY setup bitching.

Ill do a run with 1 of every class in the party tonight. FRAPS it and have it for you tomorrow. Don't confuse my intent of proving people here wrong that setup the end all of the raids. I still don't like speed being a factor for gear.

Like that time when DH came out and people were complaining that it was a archer only fight and you said "no. no no, melee can clear it easy" and then on your live stream you wiped hard, then blamed it on not having the "A team" available to do it.

You got 24 hours DocMog prove this community wrong! I'm rooting for you! ((take the "A team" this time!)

Speed should be an achievment only and maybe a special title to have and brag about. Gear rewards should be based on the ability to clear the dungeon regardless of time taken to do so.

I'll be very disapointed if they keep gear rewards for speed clears in ver 2.0 It's not a gamebreaker for me, but just a huge let down.

My full video of the run is very large (FRAPS is insane...) so it will be up in the AM for everyone to view. It will be private and linked only here, because I don't see the need for everyone to see our terribad speed run. I'll admit, it was a sketch-tastic run, we failed in a few places, but in the end got the speed run on our 1st attempt. With a little practice... who knows, it might be as good as a BLM run. Either way, we did it, it works, a full party of 1 of each class CAN indeed complete AV speed run.

Hope that satisfies the internet for another day.

Our LS does 5 Chest speed runs with 1 WHM, 3 WAR, 1 BLM, 1 MNK, 1 BRD and 1 DRG with about 3-6 mins to spare. We do this on Jobs we like to play. 2 of the WAR (One being myself) could easily switch to monks and burn stuff but we dont. If people choose to stack classes to make it easy so be it. We refused to stack MNKs and BLMs when the fights came out because we wanted to learn the fights and not just zerg them.

The only issue I have with the dungeons so far is the ability to sit there and spam them and coming out with no upgrades after 10 or so speed runs. Increase difficulties and raise drop rates.

On the note of Speed Runs in general. I hate them. I have despised them since the were introduced. I hated them in Aion. "S" runs for the simple fact of doing them was pathetic since drop rates there sucked as well. I would prefer to enjoy my time in the dungeon, explore the content inside rather than speed run everything.

PS: Achievement wise it is pathetic as well. 5 measly points for 5 Chest Speed runs which take some learning to even attempt vs. 20 points for talking to an event npc....seriously?

I'm just hoping the video will be showing a speed run with 5 coffers and not just a simple speed run, otherwise I'm afraid we won't be taught anything and it'll just confirm what we've been saying.

If you can do speed run 5 coffers with any jobs, then fine, I applaud.

There's no reason we should be able to do a 5 coffers run with some jobs and not the other way around.

I think you fix this in dungeons by having no run through content, if you try to run past it you die, minibosses all of them!

Mini-boss to unlock the gates, yes please !!

If you attack the mini-boss prior to clearing the trash he will call it during the fight.

Remove chest in the dungeons and have green loot randomly drop from trash, blue loot drop from bosses.

It's simple.. I think I've seen this done in another game >.>

With the darklight drop rates as low as they are, people will be farming these dungeons as fast as they can. You can do speed runs with any jobs btw. This thread is just filled with people qq'ing cause they can't do speed runs or at least can't do it every time. If your ls sucks to much to do it, just find a better ls. Don't ruin the game for everyone else cause of your failures.

P.S. Also please stop saying "instead of speed runs I'd rather want <fill in the blank>". Speed runs are something you tack onto the content. It doesn't matter how tough the dungeon is.

Yea just leave your LS and your friend guys, throw them to the dogs we don't' need them holding us back ... /sigh

I think you will find the majority of MMO players are casual these days and most ... uh suck as you put it.
