I've been looking through bait/fishing guides for a bit and come up empty handed. Most of them list LM as not having a favorite bait. Is this true, or outdated information?

Not sure, but I can catch them with Vulture Fly during Halatali leves at -5 fairly easily.

I personally haven't tested Lamp Marimo or the other fish catchable in Cassiopeia Hollow since there are no schools in which to catch them from. Schools have a much better proc rate for favored baits than just open waters so it takes a lot of time to test a fish that you can't normally catch in a school. The best thing I can say is put your depth at -3 (that's their sweet spot) and hope for the best. But it's quite possible that they don't have a favored bait since there are least 3 other fish that I know of without one.
