No the levelling speed is fine.

Even if you change it now, it will make absolute no difference, most people have multiple 50's or even full 7/7 50's. So changing it so you can make low level content will affect a very small amount of people.

What you want is level sync.

    Yea I agree with that.

They adjusted the XP curve then they added links and chains which is fine until you get to 40+ and move to a stronghold and the XP per hour jumps through the ceiling.

I think they need to go back and adjust the XP you gain at 40-50.

Hmmm I think the poll is to get feedback for 2.0 though.

the leveling speed of this game is like a nascar race. it is way over what the normal accepted limit is. to me it is much too fast.

The game as it currently is, is too top heavy. All the cool stuff (even job AF is toward endgame, which is probably what most of the returning players are interested in) is at endgame, so if you make it take forever to level you will have a hard time retaining any "newer generation" MMO players.

I believe the pace is designed to allow friends of "veteran" players to catch up with minimal hassle which is why PLing is allowed to a certain extent.

The "journey" is pretty much a zombie zergfest with 7 other people thrown together or boring leves that waste your time with fleeing mobs/make you sit there for 15 minutes. Time to go grind on FFXIV's version of the robber crab: raptorz. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

First off.. yes... I think it's too fast... I really do... but...

Maybe he feels the end should justify the means

    Consider this:
If every game publication.. every review site... every gamer friend of yours, every blog... If every one said a certain game had endgame that was so epic...so insanely good that it deserved universal praise... The cutscenes looked better than real life... the voice acting was Oscar worthy... the end boss was super tough rewarding and amazing... the fight mechanics were so next gen... the strategy required would make the Pentagon cringe... It was like Navy seals, wrapped in Jedi, sprinkled with Sephiroth's ashes...

    but..

It took 6 months of leveling 6-8 hours a day to even get to do this fight....

People might complain about the amount of time needed... but they'd do it.. damn it even the most casual players would be out grinding their hearts out...

And thats the thing... maybe Yoshi knows there isn't much to see right now at end game... so giving players this epic, long arduous tedious journey is not the best call right now

Question asked, question answered. Yes leveling is too fast.
If they change it, I envy and pity the new players for getting/having to go through the trials so that leveling feels like an accomplishment. It'd be awesome if when you got steel cyclone cuz you hit 50 and did the quest it would have a meaning.... as it stands, its meaningless, everyone is 50 everything.

I absolutely believe that the leveling pace is too fast. You can solo from 1-10 from leves alone in an hour or less. 10-20 is better, but still pretty fast. It doesn't really start to feel like it slows down until about the time you're working on Grand Company content and job quests. And I don't have any 50s, but I see people say all the time there's a weird reverse curve where your last few levels just fly by.

I don't think it's unintentional, either. The super fast pace has probably been left this way due to lack of content. All we mainly have to level with is leves and grinding. I think they need to slow down the pace and give us more low-mid level content with which to progress. The key is to keep the leveling process enjoyable, so that you have so much fun playing, you don't even notice that you're leveling while doing it. You want to play the game, not play the levels.

I would like to see SE slow down the leveling pace so it doesn't feel so trivialized, and give us more leveling content along the way.

    This thread makes me sigh.

Leveling speed is fine, since everything from 1-50 is pretty much a useless grindfest anyway. If there was mid-level content with tangible rewards worth doing more than once (I'm looking at you, Toto-Rak) a bit of a slow down would be acceptable but as it stands - meh. Leave it alone.

Level Sync is what I really wish was in this game right now. I would love to play with others who aren't 50 capped, but I can't. ; ; As for the speed of leveling, I'd say it is quite fast. I wouldn't mind if they slowed down the DoW/M leveling by increasing the experience needed to level.

    Again though, Level Sync!!!
