I would say the main reason that low level gear doesn't sell is because of materia. The reason why gear at 41+ is so popular is because that's the only range in which you can obtain grade III/IV materia. From 1-30 no matter what you turn into materia it'll always be grade I. From 31-40 it's either Grade I/II. So it's moreso that people aren't willing to take the time to make the gear since the materia just isn't worth the time. The other issue is the MW limit since gear doesn't stack it's less appealing to sell unless it's something rare that can fetch as much as a material going for 3-4k a piece which would be 297-396k.

A simple solution would be the ability to stack each piece of gear on a single line to a max of 10. At least then a person using a retainer could put up 10 different pieces of gear of 10 quantity, rather then 10 of the same item and hope people want it. Even 5 quantity would be nice but since gear is only a single stack people are less willing to put up low level gear for 1-5k when they can just as easily sell 50 logs for 500 each and earn more in that one slot then with that low level gear.

Leveling is too slow, we need some Abyssea style burn parties in FFXIV.

I think the current leveling speed is fine. It's not slow but it's not fast either when you solo leves, for example. When you get an exp party (good luck with that before strongholds), it's appropriate as well. I have all the battle classes at 50 and when friends of mine decide to give XIV a try, I want to play with them as fast as I can because most of the content is at 50 anyway.

I believe leveling should have more variety (Hamlet defense should help with that, I think) but the speed is just right. Now of course if you get a PL, it's an entirely different problem. But I'm fine with that too, if I can help a friend level something so he can play it with me, I'll do it. You can't get PLed to 50 then complain leveling was too fast.

Its pretty darn fast, I went from 47-49 in a little over 2 hours doing solo leves and then did a few more leves the next day and was 50... I think its too fast, but probably ok for the game now. In 2.0 I am hoping that the leveling curve is steepened after 50 and there are more things to do as you are leveling up.

Hmmm it is fast yea, but I kind of like that its fast.

I get the feeling the results of the poll regarding levelling speed will be that its too fast, and I suspect SE's answer will be to increase the XP curve and leave Power-levelling in place.

    Which would be disastrous.

CNJ is actually taking me a while to get to 50, I can not play all the time. I'd certainly like to be able to enjoy end game things though, so why should leveling be any slower? If you play alot, then you get their quick, no problem with that.

You ever play an offline game? Invest enough time in one and usually you can be level 50 in a week. Shouldn't be much different in an online game. A game is a game, not a lifestyle commitment.

50 is not the end. Exping gets longer and longer, imagine how long it will take you to actually achieve something as 75, probably another 2 weeks just for those 25 levels. Not to mention all the quests involved.
Also not to mention that each job you have, you need its supporting classes' abilities, that's what another 2 weeks (one for each sub-class) to maximize your potential in one job.

I'm not going to sit here and level forever to actually get to real content. Solo stuff along the way is nice, but thats not why I'm playing an MMORPG is it now?

Well every level cap they could readjust the whole levelling curve from 1-50.

FF11 had a few patches were the lower level required XP was adjusted.

theyve already adjusted our exp like they did in 11 though
except they did it before they added more levels so its too fast and easy as is

when they raise the cap and we have a steeper curve itl make alot more sense though
