xi was also out for years before abyssea was released. it was a last ditch effort to keep some of it's members and draw a few off other games due to the ease of leveling. it wasn't started a year into the game's life and before the first ever level cap increase.lol... this is no where near as fast as FFXI's Abyssea expansion pack.
I swear some of you guys remind me of those idiots who posted threads about removing teleportation from the game.
SE needs to be more careful about who they listen to when developing this game further...

Problem is.. we don't have enough jobs/classes. And that latest patch was a joke. I rather SE give us LARGE patches with all kinds of content once every few months than these small pathetic patches that everyone completes within a week..
The exp rate is fine where it is. The amount of content we get within each patch.. isn't.
Edit: I find you to be a hypocrite. You took advantage of the exp rate.. look at you with all your capped levels.. and now you wanna screw all the newer players by telling SE, "ok I've capped everything, now you should make it more difficult for newer players".
Now I'm glad your LS is having a hard time with the AV/CC rewards.

Lols , are you serious? soo he is in a ls that has the teamplayer attitude enough to help him and others i would assume, get his jobs PLed to 50, (wich btw, good luck with finding a random group who is willing to sit through hours and hours of strait grind to get nothing out of it, just to PL you) he saw an opertunity and took it, I for one dont blame the man. PLs are still there, if you were'nt soo self concerned you might be in a LS that may help you with that and vise versa. But fact remains, if they dont slow down the xp gain xiv will be short lived. Like it or not. Soo only thing I can suggest to you cry babbies who havent got there yet, get while the gettins good. But dont cry when SE ends the PL and brings back the grind.Problem is.. we don't have enough jobs/classes. And that latest patch was a joke. He's been here since the beginning. It is hardly a surprise he has capped levels. It doesn't make what he is saying irrelevant and, if anything, I'd say it means he has more personal experience to back his opinions than you do yours.Problem is.. we don't have enough jobs/classes. This isn't about people trying to screw newbies. It is about logically thinking through to the outcome of our current situation regarding the future of this game. A + B leads to C, if you follow.
I have the same opinion as he does and I'm not capped. What you got to say to me?

hey why don't you look and see when i capped my last class. when the exp increases came in i had 2 classes left and they were both 36+. i did my time getting around 10k an hour getting levels. you cannot say the same. i am not a hypocrite, but you are a whiny little child expecting things to be handed to you.Problem is.. we don't have enough jobs/classes. i stayed and played since i joined the game and have taken no breaks from the game so of course my levels are reflected in that.
here's the funny part. when pl came into the game and easy exp was given out i had 2 classes that weren't capped. my 36 gla and my 36 lnc. i partied to 40 on raptors and then went into the srtongholds so, no i didn't even get to use the pl methods nor would i have. i just think the sp is too fast now just like it was too slow originally.
hell i got my first 50 back when the best way to level was in copperbell getting very little sp per mob killing one at a time.
edit: lizard i also decided to look at your profile on pro. it's nice to see someone talking about how leveling is fine when you started 12-12-2011 and already have every battle class to cap. so you think capping 7 classes in 3 months is the right amount of leveling?

You are missing the point saying that .... it is because the lvling system is too fast that the patches dosent last.Problem is.. we don't have enough jobs/classes. And that latest patch was a joke. You can easily get a job from 0 to 50 in 2 or 3 days. Then run around for a couple of hours to get the job.
This is the real problem that kills the game.
Toto-rak is useless because there is no use for those lvl 30 stuff.
NMs are useless because most of them drop 35 stuff.
Quests become irrelevant since the items and experience given can be obtained by 1 min in an EXP party.
Low level crafts are also useless since you level to fast. low level items that should be cheap because a lot of people make them become expensive since no one bother to make them.
Then when the leveling is done what do we have left .... Crafting CC AV Ifrit Moogle, still better than only ifrit and moogle but people get my point i think.
The content is a part of the problem but it would be way better if the pace of the game was slower.
Slowing Xp would make a lot more stuff relevant but this is my opinion.

I guess we will know when they show us the results of the poll.
I think its wayyyy too fast when you consider Power-levelling although think its about right when you take that out of the equation.
They need to remove PL and add level sync in my opinion, some more low/mid ranged dungeons would be nice also.
There is several reasons why gear isn't being purchased at low levels, the main one being power levelling, you don't even need gear to be power levelled, the other is that gear doesn't make a big enough difference to bother upgrading.
This can be solved by again removing power levelling and moving the majority of base stats over to armour/weapons.

Personally, I think even regular party leveling is too fast, especially the higher level you are which is backwards. Once you are 45 it takes around two to three hours in a Natalan party to cap.I guess we will know when they show us the results of the poll.

I'm confused how people can say levelling is too fast....if you can't find a party for grinding or even Leve's and do it all solo, levelling is a slow pain in the ass until 35+.
And then I'm confused as to how levelling is too fast when really all the content is aimed at 45-50.
So the idea is:- let's slow down levelling, making it take even longer to participate in the engaging and fun content, if infact you have the patience to withstand an even slower levelling pace?!
Yea I'll pass! Leave it as it stands or if they remove the whole PL thing speed up the content-less lower levels!
the easy solution would be to increase the exp required to lvl at the higher lvls.
