I'm surprised no one said anything about people essentially getting a tank at 60 (Gunbreaker) without having a tank leveled. Hell of a time to learn how to tank.

I would think healer mains would know best what the tank job needs to do since they are the ones having to keep them alive. At least that was the case for me. Situational awareness of the field helps a lot.
At one hand tanking makes me joan all the time and i have no motivation to do anything.
But at the other i just cannot look at all those baddies who cant even get a grip at the basics when i play dps myself.
So i end up in tanking role so i could live in my ignorance playing a tragicomedy game.
Actually, I think some people lack "common logic" and "Thinking".
What I mean is, you are a Tank, you are supposed to have monster focused on you (That's the 1st and most important point of all). BUT People seems to don't activate Enmity stance OR (For a really incredible reason) keep turning it on and off (This was really happening to me in a dungeon, and the tank actually said he was 8 years old. Please, don't let your children play the game unless they have grown a little more. The content of this game isn't for them.)
So, people complain about how tank don't do their jobs. I will not complain, well not exactly, for the same thing.
It's not that they don't do their job, it's more that they don't wan't to or can't to.
Let me explain :
The first thing, the very fundamental thing you HAVE to do is.... Read your spell and test it... ANNNNNNNNNNNNNDDDDDDDD Nope, people don't do this. Readind is too mainstream now a day, and people that got years of gaming can't understand that (All of this is a joke).
Seriously, I think people don't even understand what they are doing because they just don't read spell properly and don't use their mind for imagine what use of it they can make (Yeah it's a REALLY rare ability you can call ANTICIPATION). When I was reading my skills, I have immediatly understand what use they have, and by using them multiple time, I learned how to get the maximum of efficiency from them. That's how mastering a "Classes" is. But not how mastering a "Role" is.
But i'm going far away from the subject I think.
Their is a lot of player who don't actually now what they MUST DO when they got a classes. What a TANK is, What a DPS or a Healer is supposed to do. Sadly, it's only cause of one reasons.
They don't read.
But I've seen some post here, and yes, some are quite founded but not at 100% :
The fact that people take immediatly a lvl 60 tank, for exemple, is not actually making 100% of them bad. Some of them, with a very low %, were tank on other game and Should understand what the job is supposed to do. So they are supposed to, at least, take enmity and don't put their friend in danger. An other % have seen what tank do, and try to copy them, BUT a large portion of them are bad, because they copy bad technic from them. And the most large % is the part were people take a classe just because it's looks cool and doesn't even care what they are doing, BECAUSE GUNBLADE.
I only started playing this game around 3 months ago but when I played WoW I tanked so I haven't been afraid of tanking, but boy are people are so unfriendly in either MMO to tanks. Most people who would make good tanks start playing tank and leveling them and get shit on and it just turns them off of the class. I think my first experience with this was in the temple of Qarn dungeon, the 2nd boss just goes crazy after the first phase and hits whoever he feels like and when I was leveling all 3 of the tanks I'd always run into atleast 3 people who thought it was my fault. It got so bad that I just started reminding people of it even tho I thought it was fairly obvious if you just look at the party list
I'd disagree that tanking isn't fun because its not interesting, I don't think its any less fun or engaging as a DPS. Saying anyone who has a interest in tanks just like super easy classes isn't really fair to the overall importance a tank has. I don't think its right to devalue tanks

I have never seen anyone think that the tank lost enmity during that boss and I have played since 2.0.I only started playing this game around 3 months ago but when I played WoW I tanked so I haven't been afraid of tanking, but boy are people are so unfriendly in either MMO to tanks. Getting a GNB while I heal is a nightmare for me because over half the time they have trash gear, or don't know how to use cooldowns. Honestly, GNB should have been handed to people who have a +60 tank instead of a DPS.
It's the left over "I wanna be Squall" GNBs. ;p
You need to learn basic aggro holding and GNB combos and AOEs to pass the first questline to become a GNB.
I am not running into all these problems people in the forums are having with bad players and bad tanks but I do get those who don't know how much they can pull or sometimes forget to turn on the tank stance so I just remind them as we run to the first pull, no big deal. (I also forget to put it back up if I switched classes or something.)
