Ul'dah Inn compensation? (bit of a rant?)

Will players from Ul'dah receive any kind of compensation for not being able to use the inn for the past (2ish?) week(s)?

I undestand the issue was unexpected and all, but it feels unfair that I'm having to suffer for going with Ul'dah because further testing with usage of the inns was not done. I could have leveled my 8 pugilist to 50 by now via rested xp.

The inns for the other 2 cities have been fully functional since the start. You aren't locked into one city .... you can do the inn quest for all 3 towns and access a room to get rested exp in all of them.

So no, you won't get reimbursement. The only thing that preventing you from getting rested exp was the fact that you misunderstood the ability to rest at all cities.

I figured I'd get responses like these. Not everyone has the time to waste going to another city just to use an inn. (Nor do I care to waste the gil or anima.)

Its 5k max to take an airship and go to another town. I finished leveling up bard this weekend and the last few nights its been leves, return to Ul'dah and take airship to Grid, log out in Inn... You get more than 5K in many leves.

I don't believe there should be a compensation. If anything, those loyal to Limsa and Gridania should be compensated for existing in a barebones market and ghost town for months.

Like others have said, absolutely not. You had alternative options. You are not entitled to some form of compensation because you chose not to use them.

Furthermore, even if all three Inns went down, I think the notion of being owed compensation by the Devs is a bit ludicrous. It's a video game. And this is a bonus-type feature, one that wears off after a while anyway. It's not like the bug they had disabled the equipping of all weapons, or even a specific kind of weapon, rendering an entire element of standard gameplay disabled. Come on. Be better than that.

ya in agreement with everyone else, no reason what so ever not to go elsewhere, its not like you are tied to Uldah just because thats your city. I think Limsans and Gridanians should get compensation for having to have all these filthy Uldahn's in our inn these past 2 weeks :P.
