yea it is to reduce having to press up to 5 buttons down to one (up to 4 on dpad to select party member, 1 for play), dw always useful to get that info out there

the change to UC is good.
While the old (or diurnal for that matter) is definitely better for easy content farming such as EX or let say E1S and E2S, 10% raid wide dmg mitigation for 20s definitely offers much needed value to the Noc AST. When dealing with last tier / ultimate, reliable and frequent raid mitigation is very important. In other words, there's nothing to heal if the next AoE one shot the raid.
But there's still the HoT issue SCH has over Noct in the form of frequent Whispering Dawn and Sacred Soil which bring consistent and strong heal for free which Noc lacks.
mp issue will not change. we don't (or at least aren't suppose to) cast enough aspected spell to make 100 matters. It will be around 2-3k more mp for your average healer

At first glance, Dinural CU seems way stronger the Nocturnal. CU is still not stronger enough to warrant keeping the bubble up longer than one big hit. At least Dinural helps heal your party up after you drop the bubble.
So Collective Unconscious in Noct Sect will provide a Regen to anyone standing inside the bubble but will leave a 10% damage down buff on anyone for 20 secs after the bubble is gone. That seems interesting but I wonder if anyone is going to try and hold the bubble for the Regen. Maybe if you're out of MP it could be a last ditch attempt to heal the tank? The effect seems lackluster in either sect to me tho. If you're stuck holding up the bubble the effect should be stronger to warrant it.
If I'm 5 seconds into a Rez please don't use Swift Cast and steal my glory. Just let me waste the MP.
I was hoping they would make Earthly Star more obvious for those on low graphics. The ability is genuinely pretty hard to see sometimes despite its monumental importance. Its kinda crazy that CU (which is awful) has such a nice graphic that you only see for .5 seconds but star is barely visible. Any hope we could just get this ability to be a bit brighter on the borders?
Seems Diurnal AST has too many powerful regen while Noct AST only have regen from CI and Nautral Sect.
I think SCH still better with more frequent access to both shield and HoT compared to Noct AST.
I wish they fix Horoscope to heal when the duration end.
At least they are addressing mp consumption problem.
CU is still channeling, but I can just use it for wheel of fortune I guess.

I don't get the pDPS buff tbh. Why can't they leave the hard hitting job to WHM? Are we gonna go through 4.X again where AST can do equal pDPS as WHM?
Why can't they shift AST pDPS to cards and buffs instead? Isn't AST's identity supposed to be a job that empowers allies?
I still may not be playing AST but I love the changes to CU plus several potency increase. Makes me happy for those who play the job.
The 100mp reduce on Nocturnal made me chuckle.

I\\'m happy with the changes but Divination 15 second duration still sucks when the dmg buff is still low. Most dps party buff is way better and done by one click. And wish they just give us extra mp card back, 100 mp less cost won\\'t change how bad nocturnal sect is. If you die and get revived, its near impossible to get back your mp, I always stay under 40% and its not helping when theres reviving to do which makes my mp go under 10%. Dying under nocturnal sect is a nightmare ^^\\'

The 10% for 20s is very strong, there's no doubt about it, plenty of situation could occurs where it would be stronger than SCH SS. Just to name a few, E1S delta attack / First Orb transition, E2S Flare (mostly for the healer/dps in the corner), E3S Tsunami1 and 2 and E4S many debuff explosion (with the raid spread accross). Ofc there are as many, if not more situation where SS would shine better due to its HoT and short CD.
But we must not forget that first and foremost a Noct AST must be able to mitigate as well as a SCH with reliable shield/mitigation which become critical for harder content you don't overgear (E3S/E4S first few weeks basically, and probably upcoming alexander).
Noc+WHM will still suffer from having to spend more gcd healing the tanks than SCH/WHM.
Synastry being very underwhelming would be a nice way to actually remedy to the situation. A slight buff to noct CI could also help.
Or there could simply make that the AST bubble last for as long as the AST stays in it. (or at least do not move but is allowed to cast Malefic)
And if they reaaallly want us to stand still for 15s, they could simply add a dps component to the field dealing equivalent damage to MaleficIV.
That would also help mp as you'd save a good 1k mp with every use
