I am not sure. Maybe League of Legends made me change my view on certain things, but this will make Duty Finder parties even worse. The analogy to LoL is that people play Botgames until Level 50 (you need to be Level 3 to join PvP) and when they do, they are ridiculously unskilled because they played against the low-AI and think they know it all and make you lose because of that.

I mean, you have those instances which are only for you, but two quests further, you have the dungeons with a hard iLevel requirement where these players get stuck then. What is this logic? That is like driving automatic transmission on your own and think you are uber skilled and suddenly your party puts you on the driver's seat of a manual transmition. Oh, the stutters and stalled engines...!

My worst instance so far in that matter was the final fight with X'rhun. I retried four times, buying new equipment meanwhile. Winning this instance was a blast after I figured out what my mentor cat did (and what I failed at). A quasi-cheat is so underwhelming, innit?

About damn time. As someone who primarily healed in the past trying to heal undergeared tanks sucked.

Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

To be fair, there have been some complaints from so-called game journalists about games being too hard. Maybe this is an attempted to appeal to them. Personally, I don't really care as it doesn't affect me that much, but I am worried that it may be a taste of things to come.

You do know this isn't the ilevel requirement for dungeons thread, but the solo duties being given easy difficulty options thread?

Wait a second. I misread. I thought it was for dungeons. Like if someone qued for very easy in a dungeon, and you qued for normal, that person would cause the dungeon to be over quick, and boring. Which for sure was a reason to complain and talk about it. If that was the case, I personally would always keep it at normal, but it's for solo content. This affects only the solo player. I am not trying to be rude or mean, honest, but why is there a reason to complain again? I mean I'll be picking very easy because I'm not a fan of those. Though from what I read, you can only choose the difficulty if you die. So I doubt I'll be choosing it too much. That doesn't make me any less of a player. I pull my own weight in dungeons trust me. I know how to heal through normal pulls, and big pulls, all while keeping DPS at a low, or decent pace depending on the size, and if I trust the tank not to go boom lol. I do what my job requires of me. Yes, now there is no reason to learn solo instances, but at least the option is there. For those who use it, and those who won't. I doubt we will see a rise in "lazy players" Besides, like someone said in the second post about this: "*Cough Level 70 skip *cough*"

You ever been in a party with someone so incredibly terrible at their job, that you question how they even got that far?

    That's why.

To be fair that always happens at least once (or more) in my daily roulette rounds anyways. Those guys got over the solo duties somehow, so they cant be that beneficial...

But then maybe we're just not aware of the hundreds and thousands of people who learned from them.

Well, sure, but I just give them tips, and hope it goes well. Complaining about them only wastes everyone's time as now you have 2 players doing their best and focusing on the fights, 1 who needs a bit of help learning and would benefit best from everyone being understanding, and 1 player who isn't even playing and just complaining. It's best to help those people, and if they don't accept it, either try to reason, or do a vote kick. The vote kick is only if they refuse to see the group's reason. Not singular reason. What you are worried about, happens rarely, and will keep happening rarely after this option is added. I mean, I'm autistic (High functioning) and I know how to play this game very well. If I can learn, most others can too. I promise you, everything will be fine.

The game already offered you up to 100% echo if you just failed the fight often enough, so really nothing has changed.

In fact, this way is better because now anyone who wants to keep retrying the fight without echo doesn't have to keep clicking it off.

Very true, I didn't think about that. This is an option. Options always give you a choice. So this goes both ways.
