Outside of the limited-time moogle event, the Pegasus mount cannot be obtained any other way besides trading in 99 of the battle-related Spoils from Diadem. You cannot get it from POTD. Not 100% sure on the two minions, but I could be wrong on those. They have moved a lot of the older Diadem rewards to other content already, which is why them suddenly deciding to NOT consider the remaining rewards burns even more.

The Coven weapons are just for show...

Being just for show is about what everything is worth, so not sure why Coven weapons don't matter any more than glamour or minions or mounts. The fact is they were and still are the only i280 level 60 weapons in the game, had new weapons just added in 5.0 and were something alot of people never got a chance to see or get.

The achievement points can be obtained elsewhere...

What? Achievement points aren't gil. There is a limited amount of them and removing 230 points is removing 230 points. You may not care about them, but for those of us who do 230 unobtainable points that were otherwise, even to this day, relatively obtainable for the most part, is not a minor thing. The title, also, is a very coveted tile that a lot of people use and a lot of people want, myself included. It's not minor just because you personally don't care.

The content was bad because you needed a very large party to do most of it...

Agreed. This was what made Diadem a failure (and also what continues to make Eureka a failure), and compounded that failure as time went on. The biggest mistake they ever made was not touching it at all in 4.0 or 5.0 and keeping it synced down to 60 with no updated tome rewards. It should have been opened up to any level, gave current tomes for completion, and let people queue solo back in 4.0.

All of this will be gone for TWO WEEKS while they re-adjust things. They never said it was all gone permanently.

The patch notes say the achievements will no longer be obtainable. End of sentence. Last time they did this they were very clear about saying it would be a temporary shutdown and all achievements would still be obtainable, albeit slightly differently, in the new Diadem. The fact they did not say anything about current Diadem's rewards existing come the Restoration seems to imply it's all going in the trash compactor. I hope I'm wrong, I really do. I hope one of those rarely sighted mods comes along with a word of clarification and says "Sorry for the confusion folks, but rest assured Diadem is only gone temporarily and everything will still be available in 5.15 when Ishgardian Restoration is released!"

...The fact that people are getting upset over content I found dull, drab, and uninteresting, honestly, beggars belief after watching people throw it under the bus for almost 4 years now.

People aren't upset over Diadem being reworked. It needed reworked and we all knew it would be reworked since Ishgardian Restoration was announced. People are getting upset because content with rewards there is no other way to get is being removed, and we were not given any notice that this would be the case. Nobody will complain about the new diadem if it still offers some way to get the rewards I mentioned in my previous post. Even people who think it's worse than the previous Diadem will still have to admit that the old Diadem was dead whether they enjoyed it or not and needed reworked. Nobody complained like this the first time it was reworked precisely for this reason.

The problem here is you and I are on two different sides of the coin. I'm pessimistically looking at the total removal of the content, you're optimistically assuming it will all be back with a new coat of paint in a couple weeks and/or all the rewards will still be obtainable. Really nothing else to say about it but "time will tell." For what it's worth, I hope you're right.

I did the math, after getting every item Jehantel has the 230 points you get from these are not needed. They are unnecessary to get every item in the game tied to achievements. If the achievement is gone, then it's gone, goodbye, sayonara. It doesn't matter. It's a footnote of the game. it's a little pat on the back for doing something. Achievement hunters will be sad, but a majority of people won't care. I am with the majority because I don't care.

The achievement tokens are not the point. The points are the point. And yes achievement hunters care, you don't. That doesn't mean it doesn't matter. Seeing as this and the crafting changes are the two most talked about things from the notes so far, I would say interest in it is slightly above lukewarm at the moment.

Why does it matter? You say all these things but never explain why.

Because I care? Why should anyone have to defend their interests in this game? I'm an achievement hunter, and I am a person who enjoys experiencing content at my own pace. Luckily I did get to experience most of what Diadem offered, so I'm in a better position than most. That doesn't mean I don't understand why this sudden decision is a problem. The entire gist of your responses has consistently been "I don't care, so I don't think you or anyone else should care."

But yeah, we'll see when it's actually released how the coin falls. I'm rooting for you.

They literally announced it in the live letter that the Diadem will be reopen for the Ishgard restauration content.

Yes, which is why we all assumed there was nothing to worry about, and were looking forward to the new Diadem. Then the prelim path notes drop saying exploratory missions are being removed and the achievements will no longer be obtainable, which means the content behind it will be gone. Not changed. Gone. Here's the blurb from the notes so you can see how clear it is they are flat out removing the entire thing:

Exploratory missions have been removed.

The following adjustments have been made in accordance with the above:

Exploratory missions will no longer appear in the Timers window.
Exploratory missions will no longer appear as a duty in the Party Finder menu.
Achievements related to exploratory missions will no longer be obtainable.

Whatever the new Diadem is, it certainly looks like it will not let you obtain anything from the old Diadem ever again.

It is likely they are changing the system to work like Eureka. Instead of trying to queue in with a Full Party you queue in solo. They are likely also removing the distinction between Trials of the Matron and Trials of the Fury. The Achievements being permanently removed (if any) are likely the "Feet/Hands/Head in the Clouds I-IV" and "Have a Haillenarte I-IV" achievements which are based on evaluation and completion as those systems will likely be removed replaced by other achievements.

Crown of Thorns I-V, Crowning Achievement I-III and Gem and the Hallowed Lands will likely return along with all current rewards once they finish the Diadem update in addition to new rewards and achievements.

Yeah but they also wrote in the Patchnotes that: Achievements related to exploratory missions will no longer be obtainable.

Which makes it clear that the Notorious Monster Hunter title will be gone forever.

For achievement hunters who not had the chance to get that title it is just a punch in the guts.

Especially cause they announced the Garo Title and Mount removal months ago over and over again.
And this... mere 4 days.

For a game that has the most "Dev => Player communication about future plans" this is just sad.
