Trusts!

I really hope Trusts get more attention. I think I saw a few new possible permanent Trusts in the trailers. That, and I've been thinking, maybe once you complete your level 80 class quest, you then get your main teacher as a Trust you can bring along with you. I've also been thinking about adding a way to change the main character Trusts between their old and new classes. (Thancred to Rogue, Y'shtola to White Mage. So on.) Any other Trust ideas you all have?

I have a lot of ideas, but Yoshida was asked about more Trusts in an interview and stated that they can't add too many and new ones only spread over time because it's a lot of development cost.

That being said... give me all the Ishgardians.

You know... as much as I appreciate their desire to integrate trusts into the story and give them in-dungeon dialogue and all of that. I can't help but think they should have just extended squadrons a bit, or even just made the trusts a bit more generic.

Yeah, the fluff is cool, but I would rather be able to use trusts/NPCs in more content.

Honestly, we shouldn't have too many trusts, otherwise, the system and the structure will become tedious. At the moment, adding in the two Trusts we lost, and eventually, maybe, adding a Trust for each job would be nice. Additionally, if they just add Trust for the sake of adding them, it'll feel odd. At the moment they feel natural, and add a bit more to the illusion that these are actual party members. But, maybe adjust a few of their skills here and there... some AoE might be nice.

I didn't think about the overall feel. You aren't wrong. Too many would cause it to feel odd. I'd say just the normal characters, then stop. (Lord Hien, Estinien, Lyse, and so on.)

I'm only disappointed that we lose the Exarch. That's ALL I want. The guy plays multiple slots, which makes him the jack of trades to all party comps pre ending SHB final dungeon. That's what bothers me the most. I NEED HIM ADDED BACK TO MY PARTY Q_Q

Good news it looks like he is back, kinda. Wont know until the patch drops but they showed a new mode for the Trust system, allowing you to redo dungeons like it was the first time again. And the showcased dungeon is Holminster Switch. They also mentioned they had no plans to add in new Trusts at this time, but they clarify that G'raha is not a new trust; yes they refer to him by name in the patch notes. No words on Lyna, but I would like to think the same rules apply to her.

Also on a side note, please bring her back. I am starting to dislike Viera again, and she quelled the "rage" in not only me, but many players after that fiasco.

I definitely read one function of the Scenario tab as being able to run the dungeon with the exact same options and Trust levels you had when doing it through the story before you completed the msq. I.e. a sort of NG+ version for the Trust system and you would be limited to these Trusts at these specific levels for each instance:

Holminster Switch: Level 71 Crystal Exarch, Alphinaud, Alisaie, Lyna
Dohn Mheg: Level 73 Thancred, Urianger, Alphinaud, Alisaie, Minfilia
The Qitana Ravel: Level 75 Thancred, Urianger, Y'shtola, Minfilia
Malikah's Well: Level 77 Thancred, Urianger, Alphinaud, Alisaie, Y'shtola, Ryne
Mt. Gulg: Level 79 Thancred, Urianger, Alphinaud, Alisaie, Y'shtola, Ryne
Amaurot: Level 80 Thancred, Urianger, Alphinaud, Alisaie, Y'shtola, Ryne

More importantly, the other function of the Scenario tab will be to run the new level 80 MSQ dungeons with whichever specific Trust NPCs are associated with them.

The Avatars tab is the current system we have after completing the MSQ and that is the 6 Trusts that we level from 71-80. It may eventually gain additional Trust characters, but for now I'm pretty sure it's not changing aside from likely getting new level 80 MSQ dungeons included as well.

tl'dr version: The scenario tab is the Trust functionality from before you finish the MSQ and the avatar tab is the functionality from after you finish the MSQ.

Did they? They've put a screenshot of him unmasked tight there at the top of the page, but I don't see him being referred to by name. Just a generic statement that scenario trusts are available again, and a screenshot of Lyna and the Exarch available on the trust menu exactly as they were at that point in the story, long before his identity was revealed.

Anyway, as of the end of 5.0 at least, it seems that he regards "the Exarch" as his true identity now, and continues to be labelled as such in his dialogue boxes and overhead name tag.

Crap you're right. Either it was removed for spoilers, but then again why show a picture of him, or I'm merging two bit of info. But I did see it from some "official" source, but now I can't remember. I just remember it stating he's not a new trust, and the spelled his name without to apostrophe.

Also regardless of how he is labeled in game, the message I read was addressed to the players. Aside from trying to avoid spoilers, I don't know anyone who really refers to him as The Exarch, even before the dramatic unrevealed, lol
