    i agree with wanting something like sky/sea. it's my number one on my wish list. something that full linkshells can do together and literally if wanted to ..could spend everyday all day doing it. no time limits, no instances, no max number of people. tons of bosses, mini bosses, main bosses, gears, items, commrodery, and working together for the same goal. gearing each other up. i can't stress how a mmo will thrive with something like this, even if casuals can't put in much time, they eventually start getting the same gear we do. plus it's not like we still don't have the instances and dungeons that don't need that gear to beat. it just makes it easier and faster with. time wasted to gain = some time saved in other feats.

    FF got the class/job system where you can level all of them in a single character. Given that fact, you'd gear up your main class/job, then move on to the next. Such a system would also guarantee an active and populated areas by people actively doing events.


    XI had some flaws in that system. Where if you are farming place holders of some trigger, you would end up with the the issue of losing the claim, they solved the issue later with farming the area for pop item for that trigger, everyone was happy and thus LS personal merit parties were created for example. Sometimes, farming for a random drop that popped the trigger, could and did ruin events because of that shitty rate, could also be solved by creating a system of doing certain tasks depending on the size of your party.


    Also, it had the issue of the aggro, where the traveling and avoiding aggro took a great amount of time from the event itself "farming or fighting", magic aggro in sky was easy to avoid, but Sea was horrifying with the true sights especially in farming.


    I can't emphasize enough on the factor of the open area events, I believe a great factor played in XI longer years, the fact every open world event was populated and active, I can bet every XI player wanted Byakko's Haidate just for the sake of doing sky, I know I wanted one but never got them :'(. Yes, BCNM/KSNM was successful as well, but those were personally sponsored and done by LS once every month or so.
