Would love to see HNMS make a return. SE needs to do certain things with it though.
1) Be better at catching bots (they failed hard core in XI with it). Have the special task force actually research bots that are out and how they work and try to devise ways to counter them. Nothing is perfect but the way it was handled in XI was poor. Someone non-stop fishing for 14 whole RL days in a row would not be banned and hardly ever further investigated.... really. That and the same person / small group of people claiming a mob 50+ claims in a row with large amounts of competition should of also been a give away.
2) Make it were it is optional content (Rewards should be in instanced zones as well) This will make it were those who are completely against camping mobs are literally not effected by it. (See FFXI King drops (Hnm spawn) and Einherjar (instance content) for an example). So say you kill King Behemoth in XIV 2.0 it drops D.Ring, make that a rare drop from say Bahamut's Labyrinth as well. Win Win here for everyone.
3) Make the spawns more random. Sandworm, Kings, and Dark Ixion were not intended to be camped. But they spawned at set times and people did it anyways. People camped mobs that took 72hrs to spawn, this only happened though because we knew windows and were the hnm would spawm. Make the spawns trully random (simple random number generator really) they can spawn 1 sec after death or up to X hours/days/weeks. make the spawn area truly massive like Black Shroud... anywhere in the blackshroud outside nooby areas (hnm takes the place of another mob). This will make it were camping it is near impossible, people would literally have to do nothing else... should be a big enough deterrent.
4) Bring back non-time spawn nms. XI was loaded with 100s of forced spawns... there should be no complaints at all about this. The top nms in the game were forced: Absolute Virtue and Pandemonium Warden.
