Ditto. I've said about all I can think to say on the subject. I'm really hoping for a dev comment. It's been on the hot topic list longer than any of the others.

Forced spawned of instanced HNM's seem fine, but I'm really not up open world HNM's. I camped a bunch of HNM's in FFXI for at least 3+ years of 3-6 hours a day(at least). I know people are generally against the whole 3 hours with 6 windows idea of camping so I won't bring that up, but with making a world spawn system in which you have to compete against other people on a regular basis, I'm almost a 100% sure you will see some form of exploiting/cheating going on.
I remember for years people bickering on forums wanting to change of FFXI's world spawn system for Nid KB and Aspid because there was so much exploiting and cheating going on. I know someone would try and counter that by saying "oh they made everything a force spawn now, and now no one wants to even do the content!" but they changed the conditions after all the gear and items obtainable by these HNM's were already pretty obsolete.
I honestly have no confidence that SE would be able to make a world spawn HNM that will be cheating proof so I do not support that. Lottery I would actually be okay with if they made it like Despot in sky was eventually (If I remember correctly, if you kill the correct placeholder it is automatically claimed to you).
As am I. Even to hear the dev's briefly mention HNM's would be nice. And as you said, this thread has been a hot topic (400+ replies!, 110+ likes, etc). Hopefully we will get a comment.
And to the above poster, thanks for your input, but I think we should worry about the implementation aspect of HNM's first, then we can work on ways to better the system and balance it to where cheating is nullified. Albeit, cheaters always find a way, regardless of the situation, but that should not stop a system that obviously so many of us love. We can always find ways to get the cheaters out of the equation.

Here is an interesting thought:
How about an Arena? Think FFX (10)
Once you slay a certain monster (maybe not all monsters?) you can save that into your bestiary.
Think now of a spot in the city, where you and your friends could party up and summon the monsters that you have previously beaten. This would be a great way to hone skills, practice certain strategies, etc.
Just a random idea, found it kind of interesting.

Arena from Monster Hunter Tri. But that would require action combat on par with Tera and GW2 (which we will never have) QQHere is an interesting thought:

Sounds like a fun way to pass time and test ideas. Probably post. 2.0 content though.
Indeed.
Would be pretty neat though, to be able to beat an HNM, then be able to battle it in your arena. Would be a great way to formulate strategies.
Just an idea though. Still searching for more people to offer some new ideas to the table involving HNM's. Can't really think of anything we haven't hit yet.

so...............let start off with the normal NM first ok? How many time in ffxi do you see a NM and dont stop to kill it? Well i just ran pass NM in ffxiv and not even care. I remeber in ffxi i would not even run pass it but would go check on it if i was in the area. How many you guy even check on NM in FFXIV?
NM's in FFXIV aren't anything like the NM's in FFXI. I stop to kill them because I just have a tendency to kill unique mobs.so...............let start off with the normal NM first ok? in FFXIV NM spawn timers are almost the same as normal mobs. There is nothing exciting about a mob that is deemed a "Notorious Monster" but respawns in 5 minutes.
in FFXI, NM's were sparse, much more rare. You got excited when you saw them, and rushed to claim them.

It seems like you starteng to make a point here, but don't really follow through on it?so...............let start off with the normal NM first ok? Your FFXI references are kind of irrelavent in this case. Are you trying to say they need to improve the value of the drops with the current NMs first?
