We live in the age of entitlement. All of these kids are entitled to the same loot no matter how much they play. I mean they pay right? Lol. People need to get over themselves. Those people having better gear then me gives me something to strive for, not something to hate them for. Those with better gear then me don't hold it over me either, so I don't know what kind of jerks you people play with.

Some of you obviously have very big chips on your shoulders from previous games. You say this isn't FFXI yet you have deep seeded issues from that game, or from life, and yes it's quite obvious. Some of you come on here with so much anger at the possibility of someone getting loot that you can't get. If people want HNM's, and it drops some of the best pieces in game, obviously because it's more rare then an instance you can enter every 15 minutes, then so be it. I won't cry because someone looks awesome in town, it will make me want to strive for better gear.

E-peen or whatever you call it has always been a driving factor in good mmo's. The recent mmo's to date have been complete trash and have failed, all because they have given everything to everyone and blurred the line between hard work and no work. This game will fall flat on its face and be nothing more then a social network for lonely people if it comes to that.

Exactly. So far the main reason that I have heard from the ones against HNM's are saying that they don't want it, because they don't want to see people in gear that they don't most likely won't be able to get. I'm sorry but I love that idea. Casual players shouldn't be able to obtain the upper echelon of gear, that is just how it is.

When it comes down to it, you have to feed your hardcore crowd. I'm sure that you can all see, just of this thread alone that there is interest in HNM's worth mentioning. The feeble reasoning of protecting the casual players from bringing in a tier of gear that would be difficult for them to get is laughable. If this game becomes a system where everyone can get their gear from the same repeatable instance, then it is going to fail.

And for the people who give no response other than FFXI sucks...I will repeat what I have said many times thus far. FFXI Still has 325,000 subscriptions. How many does this game have? Please don't for a second think that SE hasn't noticed. And why not implement ideas from a game that is still, to this day far more superior from a business standpoint. SE needs money, not the loving cries of the 2,000 people who like doing 3 instanced raids over and over again

FFXI was a great game that kept people playing. HNM's had a part in that, and I'm willing to bet that Square-Enix knows that.

There's no skill to be gained from having more time to spare then others, which is really all it comes down to. Was Team A really better then Team B cause Team A could spend 12hrs waiting for a spawn while Team B could only spare 6? The whole idea behind 14 is to do away with the unnecessary time sinks which kill the fun of the game and only cause rifts between the community as well as create dead times in a game in which you would want to be active and actually doing something. there's really no need to bring a concept like this into the game. Why wait for something to spawn, when you could easily do something as simple as this.

Use guild leves as a means to obtain rare spawn items for unique roaming creatures. Rather then one set point for a spawn, create lore within the towns that give you hints of the current location of the beast based on the rumors going around. To make it a tad trickier make it where some NPCs may lie. It's better to create a concept for HNMs that's more active rather then one that makes everyone passive just waiting for the encounter to happen. Do real adventurers wait for a best to appear in front of them or do they hunt and seek out that which they want to conquer? The idea behind finding said beast could be easy to.

You obtained "gnawed tusk" from a leve that has distinct teeth marks which others may know about. When you go into the outside towns and talk to the NPCs, you'll be given the option of "Discuss gnawed tusk" which will then prompt them to give you input on the item and either direct you to another NPC, direct you to a location, or lie to you. From this point each NPC would have to be analayzed for their personality and how they react to each KI for each mob spawn. The experience would allow hardcore players to map out the behaviors of each NPC so that they can have an edge on finding the spawn point while the casual will have to take more time in discovering the location. Rather then create a respawn timer for said creatures there could be a fatigue for anyone involved in fighting the HNM, since it's an HNM I think it's only fair to say that fighting such a beast would put stress on the party would it really make any sense if they were able to just continue spamming the same best over the period of 2-3hrs?

But ya I"m just saying there are more active ways to create an HNM system, it doesn't need to be a carbon copy of 11, the whole concept behind respawn timers is to create an unnecessary time sink and judging from the current path of 14 I'd say they are attempting to do everything in their power to create unnecessary sinks which cause players to idle in wait for an encounter with an NM.

We have discussed this already, quite a few times. I realize there are 33 pages though, so I will reiterate.

We have all agreed, that not only do we want free roaming NM's, but we would like force pop HNM's, unique pop HNM"s (think shikigami weapon), Levestyle NM's.

Think of FFXI, that game has over 3,000 NM's, with an extremely large means of pop style. INstanced, open world, BNCM, etc.

And not only that, but that timesink you complain about, we don't want either. Make them have only 1 window, and lets say a 8 hour spawn time so that it can pop 3 times daily for each time zone.

Regardless if a handful of people don't want to spend a little time, alot of us do. I wish some people could be a little more open minded and accept that alot of people would like something, and that it would do this game some good.
