I didn't say that I don't like the game. I am suggesting how it could be improved, in my opinion.

It's not wrong to reward skill, but it is wrong to insist a developer make their game something they have stated they're not making.
They stated that they are entirely opposed to competition?

How were people not homogenized in XI? There were three levels of gear: crap, standard and endgame drops.
Simply not true. There were many ways to stand out. I can guarantee you that the majority of players were not kitted out in the same gear as those in the most dominant linkshells. Are you trying to tell me that items like Ridill and Kraken Club could be found in everyone's inventory?

And this is why people are so resistant to the idea of HNMs. Because all the few supporters want is a pedestal on which to stand. While the rest of us, the majority who are here to play the game SE said they are making, would rather see them put their full focus on making 2.0 the way they said they were and doing a great job at it.
So you would rather have everyone running around with the same gear, with no way to stand out, just so players are not forced to become better at the game? I'm sorry, but a skilled player should not be running around in the same gear as someone who can barely play the game. At least that's my view of things. It has nothing to do with wanting to stand on a pedestal, but rather it has everything to do with effort and skill yielding reward.

1.x is intended to be the content that will take us years to complete. It's going to be wiped out in about seven months and we'll all have items for sticking with SE that players just joining the game in 2.0 won't be able to get.

Then in 2.0, when they're free of the crippled server and unoptimized engine, they'll be able to put in real challenges like the Crystal Tower and such.

Kraken Club used to be dropped by Lord of Onzozo. Those of us who played XI before 2007 know that sort of stuff. That's why we remember the hours wasted camping for this junk.

    Just sayin'.

    This guy.

We also don't know how you bot claim a BCNM. And we also wouldn't complain about not being able to get a claim on a mob that pop's every 24hours in a 3 (or 4? it's been awhile..) hour window on exact 30minute intervals over the course of seven years..

    Just sayin?

Lord of Onzozo wasn't a BCNM mob. It was in the open world. SE eventually moved Kraken Club to the BCNM when they realized most people despised camping NMs.

It's spawn conditions was that the window opened at 16 hours after ToD. At that point it was a lottery spawn that could take as long as 24 hours. So that's a 16-hour delay with a window of up to eight hours. FFXIclopedia even notes that it sometimes took up to 38 hours to spawn.

There was so much grieving that went on at spawns like this. That's why SE had to add a rage timer to the place holder, because people would hold the placeholder to keep LoO from spawning until their competition had to log off. How is that at all fair?

LoO wasn't on "exact 30-minute intervals" at all. You clear don't know what you're talking about at all.

Wow. I thought it was obvious but I guess not.. Here..

I said "How do you bot claim a BCNM?". When did I say anything about LoO not being open-world or the rest of that stuff you went on about?? I was specifically referring to the Kclub coming from the BCNM, which is where it came from.. That was in response to Peptaru's statement about bot claiming Kclub and Ridill... Ridill dropped from Fafnir.. and that was the timer I was explaining that you clearly don't know anything at all about. As with the rest of XI I'm sure...

There was a time when those items didn't come from BCNMs. He may be referring to the open world NMs that dropped them.
