I think trigger NM's is the best idea. I'm 100% sure that if NM's have timers, what are the chances that every single member of a linkshell is going to be online when a NM spawns? Then you have to compete with other linkshells to claim them as well if they are around.

While you all have your own opinions on what should be in and what should be omitted. Bottom line is the game needs both. Pop item NMs as well as open world NMs. Just because you don't have the determination to widescan for serket every second for 3 hours straight does not mean other people do not. You being lazy does not mean someone else is botting.

Yes there were botters at the HNM camps. I personally never did, but I did widescan claim fafnir and nidhogg on multiple occasions. Since mobs popped on widescan before they spawned on screen it was not difficult.

If you didn't know about widescan and <scan> macros you most likely would think people were botting. We used to beat the RMT at emperor becaues of widescan. There would be 4+ of them all over the beach yet we would outclaim them 90% of the time.

Just because those of you who did not try to figure out the spawn conditions of NMs and had the discipline to -CAMP- them does not mean people were always botting. It came down to the fact that you wanted an item and decided to go camp the NM and could not get claim. You got angry or discouraged because there were people camping those NMs that dedicated time into figuring out how they worked. You would camp without treasure hunter because you had no idea how important it was. That is not SE or any other players fault. It was your own.

Just because you were a terrible NM hunter does not mean that it was a bad design.

You can think you were a good hunter but bottom line is you were in the minors.
