If Fantasias were real? *Likely Spoilers*

This is more for entertainment then learning lol. Now, I got to thinking, what if Fantasia's were real and a part of the FF14 universe? How would the story change? Could the group just drink the potions and prevent some grand historical event from happening by appearing as someone else? Could people have committed crimes and blamed others? Would the Fantasia's be easy to buy, or become forbidden in the world? Feel free to give possible outcomes and changes to the lore!

Its already possible to glamour as another person (such as during the current halloween event)

Glamour is already used to accomplish fairly similar things and advanced ones such as those used by the fae folk in Il Mheg do more then simply alter the user's appearance and play tricks on the senses of observers as well to make the illusion all the more convincing.

It would be a chaotic mess if any random troublemaker could mess with their appearance instead of only a master of glamours, in any case.

I didn't even think about glamours. I imagine a Fantasia would work like a liquid glamour prism. Almost like a bottled cure spell in a way. Allowing even non glamour masters to achieve the desired effect.

I was under the impression that fantasia potions really do exist in the world of Eorzea, just incredibly rare and difficult to make.

They have a name and they come in potion form, if they were purely a game mechanic we'd get "character customization tokens" or something like that

I thought their lore explanation was rather than changing appearance, they just gave the drinker limitless self-confidence in their current one?

The same way I can fly around as a red mage, then swap to plate armor and a giant greatsword, without bothering to land. Bags of Holding.

Even if this was D&D, you wouldn't be able to pull all of your items out of a bag of holding and equip them at once. IIRC, D&D doesn't even let you draw two weapons at once when you dual wield.
