Question about Housing Macros

I have been asked question as a mentor regarding several players noticing someone in their FC talking about how he got a house by using a macro to imitate the placard selection. Macro used was something like:

Key(0:2)

So a couple of questions. Is this a real macro in-game or one used by external software? If this in-game, is this a reportable offense? I can see how it could be disadvantageous to many players who spend hours clicking away trying to beat the RNG timer before other players. However, I can also see how it would not be if it is available to all players but no one uses it (again, assuming it is an actual in-game macro).

What are your thoughts regarding this? I apologize if this was asked in past, but I wanted to be 100% sure and feel it is relevant as the new housing wards are soon to be available.

Cannot be done ingame. Most use their mouse/keyboard software. Some use something such as autohotkey or m*******P. Regardless, automation is prohibited.

This answers my question thanks. I wish there was easier way to report a player like there is for RMT, but I can see why not considering the amount of evidence and investigation required for anything else.

Well as long as the plot isn't purchased, you cannot prove without a doubt that the players are using automation even if it defies logic. It's a whole different story when the plot has been bought and players still try to purchase the plot for hours...

The best way to deal with those players is to relocate before the time most plots become purchasable really.

There's nothing to report. No different than using a turbo controller, taping down buttons, etc. Devs can't regulate your hardware or how you use it.

That does seem like something difficult to prove. Not like it is as obvious as bots floating and traveling city states in air through walls
