    Most iconic BLU spell in the series?

    Mighty Guard, the defensive spell that does all of your defensive buffs partywide in one action.

    White Wind, the party heal based on current HP that rounds out the kit.

    Aqua Rake/Lung/Breath, the usually early game aoe water spell that's stupidly good when you first get access to it.

    Level 5 Death, the gimmicky spell that selectively trivializes certain enemies, but whose real purpose is to give you a random instant game over because everyone is probably at the same level which just happened to be a multiple of 5.


    Bad Breath and Explode are more memes than actually useful so I'm not including them here. The most iconic thing about them is that they're their respective monsters' most iconic attacks as opposed to something you regularly utilize as a blue mage.

    I was very fond of Magic Hammer. Stealing a good chunk of MP from the opponent, frequently leaving them unable to cast spells, while filling up your own caster. It was pretty much my opening move with Aeris.

    I'm hoping Magic Hammer gets implemented as an OGCD interrupt ability in 5.1, since Flying Sardine's GCD restriction can make it a touch problematic to use at times.

    The four spells the TC mentioned seem the most "iconic" in that they've appeared with literally every incarnation of the class to date, though.

    Would make sense. There are enemies that use Magic Hammer in XIV.

    hmm other blue spells, well there is matra magic and the lv spells not just lv 5 death but lv 4 holy/lv 3 flare but nothing in ffxiv uses them(except lv 5 death) atm so not happening, blue also used aero spells(I even joked with my friends that Sophia would give BLU Aero III just to spite WHM), Roulette is used a lot but useless in MMO setting, which just leaves magic hammer as a staple.

    I'm sorry, what? Bad Breath is obscenely helpful. I remember soloing the Gold Saucer Battle Square in VII with Enemy Skill Materia because Bad Breath completely shuts down Tonberries by putting them to sleep.

    Bad Breath is kinda like Level 5 Death in that the situations where it does work can trivialize encounters.

    It's also one of the debatably "broken" BLU skills in XIV for the fact that its damage debuff works on everything and can be maintained indefinitely.
