Limit Break is still a default ability as far as I can tell. It should be included on your main hotbar (#1) when you: unlock a class or receive/equip a job stone. When I jumped my Bard on my alt, it added the sprint/auto attack/tele/lb (I think Return still defaults to #8) block to my hotbar, even though I had bard to about lvl 30 before I bought it--but that was Stormblood. Are you saying that isn't a thing anymore? Because I don't remember if it did that for Dancer (I just assume it did, since its been doing since forever) but I can test it on GLD or MCH, the two classes I dont have.

A large portion of the community doesn't limit break because of the animation lock. It affects parse. Or so I've been told.

I dont see how it's impeding a player to spend 5-10 minutes to take a quick course that explains the mechanics and you have to do them correctly. If you fail, you cant proceed through the course/fight and theyll reexplain the mechanic.
When my friend jumped a job on his alt, he said he received a pop-up saying to please read his tooltips, Active Help entries, and ask any questions he may have before jumping into content (I believe it referenced asking in the NN, but this isn’t always an option if players don’t meet the criteria to be in there—as a Mentor or as a Novice). There was no talk of them getting a crash course in how a job plays or anything related to explaining how specific mechanics work. This was back in mid-SB, so I don’t know if this has changed. I doubt it, though.

I would agree about rotations but most Melee classes I see not doing it are at the way bottom in term of dps. Meaning they cant be too focused on a rotation of the healer is out dpsing them lol.

As a keyboard user, I have never seen LB on my hotbar when changing classes or making a new character.

You get a tooltip pop-up upon joining a party for the first time that literally tells you about limit breaks, what they do and where to access them. If a new player decides not to read those tips, that's their own fault.

I disagree considering that it's one of several Active Help windows that appear when the player first goes into Sastasha.

The new player finally gets off the intro cutscene for their very first dungeon, their screen is covered in Active Help and the group is already running off ahead while the new player tries to get oriented. Since they're part of a group, the natural reaction is escape out of those Active Help windows blocking their screen so they can catch up to the group and contribute. They're not going to sit there and take 5 minutes to read through all of that. Once they're out of the dungeon, they're not likely to remember what all the topics for all those Active Help windows were even if they remember they had been there to be read.

What SE needs to do is add those pop-ups to the Hall of the Novice training sessions, which are intended to teach the player about group play before they go into their first dungeon, instead of waiting for the player to be in that first dungeon then throwing an information overload in their face to digest while the rest of their group gets impatient with the "lazy noob" still standing at the entrance apparently doing nothing at all. Even better would be for them to add a training session for each role specific to Limit Breaks. What is a Limit Break, what effect does it apply depending on the role of the person using it, how do groups determine who should use the LB and when.

I had it on my bar, and when I was called by someone to use it, (first time for me), I clicked it, then moved, canceling the cast timer that I didn't know about. It took a couple tries before I noticed the cast bar, but it was too late by that time.

This is one of the things they would include inside the Novice Hall tutorials. Before you enter sastasha, see?

You perform a LB just to see what it is and how to do it in acordance to you class and role before you get the must-have ring :3

Dunno why they never thought about this... '-'

Maybe it's because it's a little more complicated than you'd think. For example healer LB3 goes from near useless at level 1/2 to potentially life saving at LB3. You can enroll at the Hall of the Novice at level 15. You won't see a LB3 for at least 35 levels, but with Echo and overgearing it's more realistic to miss it for much longer. Tank LB is extremely situational as well. DPS is a bit more straight forward, but you'll be competing with other DPS over it and it might not be clear how to best use it.

Mentioning LB in the Hall of the Novice is probably a good idea, but it won't have that much impact. Some players won't be able to meaningfully use LB until long after they've forgotten about the Novice courses. The best way to promote proper LB usage is to teach other players. If it really bothers you (general you), provide some LB advice to new players. If you're in a position to LB, maybe mention at the beginning of the dungeon that you plan to use it. As a melee say "If we have LB at the second boss, I'll use it there so it will refill for the last boss" or if you're a caster "I'll use LB on the enemies in the next room since caster LB can hit them all".
