Um... Has nobody considered that it might just be a case of letting photoshop adjust levels to normalise the render against the rest of the site? Or perhaps the original render came out too washed out on top of the blurry background so it needed to have its contrast turned up.

In all other promotional material, going as far back as the fanfest teaser, the screenshots, patch artwork, even the actual gameplay trailer, her skin texture is what it is. Exactly what "change" is the singular outlier evidence of? That would be a very strange change to make after months of development, testing and recording the trailer.

I'm 99% convinced it's just the special site render and it looks this way for technical reasons.
